| #1 Posted on 11.11.04 0231.10 Reposted on: 11.11.11 0233.24 | Today's the day to pay tribute to the brave men and women who fought (and died) to protect our way of living. Whether you respect the politics behind the wars being fought, you have to respect the servicepeople who put their lives on the line so you don't have to.
So today, instead of sleeping in on account of it being a holiday, get off your ass and go to one of your city or town's monuments to the veterans. I'll be heading to Battalion Park in Calgary, where several local battalions trained for World War I. Now there's a shopping mall where the training site used to be, but at least there's a nice classy little park on the hillside as a remembrance.
Today (and all days, but officially today) we salute you, oh wonderful veterans. Keep up the good work! Promote this thread! | | whatever
