The apparant reason for Test's release according to wrestlingobserver.com is that they can told him they can pay 7 guys on his salary. The seven they were talking about were supposedly all the Tough Enough competitors who were offered developemental deals if they don't win the series.

Well, I know I'm supposed to be all outraged at this, but I just can't force it. I really don't care if they want to spend the same amount of money they were spending on one Test to hire and train seven Tests.

Also, weren't their eight Tough Enough guys? And wasn't Test told they could pay six people? And isn't "for what we pay you we could pay X amount of other people" just something that is thrown out in the heat of an "this is why you are now unemployeed" conversation?

7 losers (could - the guy who quit isn't getting a contract obviously and others might not if they do not meet expectations) get developmental deals, and the eigth guy gets the $1mil (really $250K for 4 years with WWE options) contract.

If they can hire seven decent prospects instead of one guy who had basically been used to his potential, why the hell not? If one of them ends up being a star, they've made their money back. If it's two, they're ahead of the game.

One of the biggest criticisms of WWE has been that, since the WCW acquisition, there's no system in place to create new stars. At least they're giving it a shot through this. I'd much rather they focus their efforts on that, then writing creative ways for Test to return.

I don't think anyone has ever argued that the economics doesn't add up. Mathematically, that is, as banking on any of these losers to amount to anything seems like more than wishful thinking. The point was that -- since WWE has no salary cap they are forced to get under -- it's a terribly unethical and shit-ass-shitty way to run your business. The response to which should not be, please, "KEYWORD THERE IS BUSINESS, A BUSINESS A BUSINESS," because I get it.

This has been said elsewhere, and better. This is the last time I'm going to say this - please, jk, don't start any more threads on this forum. The next thread you start on this forum will result in you getting banned. I am really, really serious.

I don't blame them...I like home grown talent. The "seven Tough Enough guys" look to be fairly in shape and have there unique qualities. I agree with the WWE on this one. Some times you have to give a little before you take.

I agree that they don't have a salary cap to get under, but that doesn't mean that they should allow themselves to just start hemoraging money from big contract guys that aren't doing anything for them.

One thing I've noticed over the past few years is that Vince keeps his injured guys pretty busy. Droz of course has his work on the site and other PR things. Edge had his column on the site, along with doing a whole crap load of personal appearances like Benoit was doing when he was still rehabing from his surgery too. TSN airs the promotional appearances for the whole country, and I can't remember the last time I saw an ad saying "Test was going to be appearing at Walmart in Saskatoon". Even if they're not injured, people who aren't being used on TV go to ticket openings to boost turnout a little. The last thing I remember Test doing was a autograph show that Stacy was signed on for about a year ago or so.

I'm not saying that I'm 100% sure that Test *hasn't* been doing anything, since someone here will probably have some example that proves me wrong, but I haven't seen it, and since I can't believe that Vince would accept paying a guy for a full year without even trying to get something out of him, if he hasn't been doing anything but sitting at home waiting for the checks to come in, why keep him?

No one here knows what happened, and there's no way in hell that they make business decisions in the WWE that contain once or two sentences, start with "Sources tell me" and somehow have ALL the information pertaining to that decision. I figure the same kinda thing might have happened to Gail Kim. Her name certainly stands out on the list of recent cannings, so there had to be a reason. Maybe she was getting some kind of real Diva attitude. Who knows. I'm just not going to pass judgement on the WWE for getting rid of people who are costing them money or who might be causing problems.

You do make a good point there. The only promotional work I remember Test ever doing was that Girls Gone Wild PPV......and even during that I read that he appeared to be drunk.

I've seen fan reports of Test acting like an asshole (which may or may not be 100% accurate), so there may be a reason why they don't/didn't send him to stuff like that.

I believe I saw a few ads for him doing appearances. But since he's from here, I guess it probably doesn't count...

"Hey Test, can you go across the block from your house and hang out at the Walmart for awhile? Thanks!"
