I really like the Hassan angle so far. When he comes in, they should have him make a save for a guy like Jericho when HHH/Batista/Flair attack him. Y2J is surprised and have a backstage vignette with Jericho thanking him and have Y2J introduce him around. Have Hassan be very polite and thanking Y2J for being so kind to him. Then cut to the wrestlers talking about not trusting Hassan while Jericho (or some over wrestler of that ilk) tries to help him out b/c he realizes he is a good guy. Show the divide regarding Hassan and portray the character as a good guy that it ends up with so many people shitting on him in the locker room that he feels rejected and hurt. That seems to be the way they are going with character and I hope they continue with it.

The idea of Stevie being Dean's partner is perfect. Stevie could be the energetic guy who "pumps up the product". I think Mike Bucci has done a great job with this character thus far, and while they need to expand the character a bit more, he is doing the best he can with it. I would like to see them add some depth to Dean though.

Snitsky was on last night, the guy has "it" way more than the other hosses but they need to help him build a solid hoss moveset.

Overall, not a bad show but I will keep my $35.

Other than that, not really an entertaining show ...

Hey, congrats! Our little one turns 8 months on Friday. My wife was not thrilled at all about the "punt of fear", but this is completely over the top such that *nobody* should be worried that it's real. This goes with the disclaimer that I would certainly *not* let my kiddo watch this. Myself, I laughed my ass off because that was just soooo ridiculous and a hell of a punt.

Orton - after that match, why not just change his name to "Lance Uppercut"? (TM - Simpsons) Sheesh!

They cut Gail Kim, then show her on the replay from last week. Ooooookay. The wife was happy as she never liked Gail since she waltzed in and won the title right away.

(edit) Oh yeah, and the Simon Dean segment sucked, too. Yeah, you're a heel. This one-trick pony has already gotten real old, real fast.

I coulda sworn Simon Dean used a "Simon says" catchphrase when the segments first starting airing. I thought it was a natural phrase to use for a heel ("Simon says you suck", etc), and that it was a phrase abandoned when Simon Diamond changed identities.

I was going to argue that putting Stevie with him would dilute the heel status cause Stevie's over. Then I remembered how despised he was in Right To Censor.

I think the segments are just under the ability to be successful, but he's giving it his all out there. He just has a really bad gimmick to push. The evil personal trainer. They tried this with Muffy, Steph's trainer, and that shit lasted just one segment on SmackDown.

So who does Dean work against first? A gentleman face who rushes to save a fan (Hurricane maybe) or one of the roster's less svelte guys (Rosey maybe)? Too bad the WWE fired some folks who could have put him over and then leave. They could have had Dean win a series of loser-leaves-town matches.

Did they really need to go *55 minutes* without a match between Benjamin/Tomko (ended around 9:50) and Benoit/Edge (began around 10:45)? The last 1:15 of the show featured *1* match.

Got a bit of a chuckle out of the fact that they didn't edit out Jericho's "oh, fuck" in the replay of Snitsky ramming him into the ring post.

A bigger laugh, however, came from JR proclaiming Snitsky punting the doll the most heinous act in Raw's history. I guess multiple attempted murders, Mae Young birthing a hand, simulated necrophilia, or Kane setting JR on fire (to name a few things) take a backseat.

Every so often they'll change it up. But it HAS been a few months since they last had it "reversed". (It's not nitpicking, just attention to detail.)

I actually think it has to do with the arena they're in and which side has a better set-up for the longshot cameras. I know, for example, that every time they do a show in Dallas that the camera is on the "wrong" side, to the left of the entryway.

I thought that Benjamin carried Tomko to one of the best matches he's had.

I can give WWE props for letting 2 young guys like Orton & Batista go for a while, but that match went on a little too long for me ... I do think that Batista is right on the cusp ... he's got all the qualities of a Goldberg, except he's a much better worker ... he'll be feuding for the Heavyweight strap a year from now ...

Batista impresses me most on the mic. He's not a spittle-spewing screamer. He has clarity, intensity and brevity, and because he rarely gets a chance to say anything other than to wax Hunter's car, it's all the more compelling when he does get a mic and push his character rather than Evolution.

You forgot the part where he could be the guy who claps and looks at the person next to them and nodding in approval. Which doing that either at specific members of the crowd or to absolutely no one would be funny either way. :)

There was a bit of that last night. When Triple H was sent to the back, Batista was edited saying "bullshit", but then they went to a close up for "fuck".

Maybe someone in the truck forget to include a couple words in the "hit the audio delay button when you hear these: " list.

Ten people from the WWE recently get their walking papers, and now Lillian has to watch Christy come down to the ring and do the match introduction.

Worse, she had to listen to Christy do the match introduction! Que horrible! Far worse than Torrie doing the same thing on Velocity. When Lawler actually picks up on how bad something involving a moderatly hot chick, it's probably not going to happen again.

Speaking of those whores, Carmella got a PPV match and hasn't been seen or heard from since. Is she done with WWE?

Thought the Orton/Batista match was very good, if a five or seven minutes too long. I think Orton is beginning to get the babyface thing down. Seems to have gotten more over too. I don't feel he is going to be the next Rock/Austin/Hogan like mega star that Vince seems to be counting on, though.

Edge/Benoit was a tad disappointing given Benoit's promo where he promised punishment so brutal he wouldn't let his family watch the match on TV.

The Triple H vs. The World angle is interesting. Not interesting enough to make me buy the PPV to see the match though.

Trish is such a great heel. A shame she doesn't have anyone better than Lita to feud with, but I guess with such a thin women's roster and the marks buying whatever Lita is selling, her options are limited at best.

-HHH/Batista/Bischoff interview- Like Gee I noticed the main camera was on the other side. It is a little strange seeing everything flipped.... HHH is angry, Batista is with him. Bischoff comes out & explains himself. HHH doesn't like it, Bischoff says the fans want action lets start with a match.

-Orton vs. Batista- They gave these guys 20-minutes on Raw, I didn't expect that. I thought they did a good job setting up the RKO attempts the entire match. Great reverse into a mega spinebuster by Batista. Orton wins with a rollup... Team Survivor Series Babyface chat, Batista runs crazy into them. Officials break things up.

-Benjamin vs. Tomko- Minor miss time going for the Russian legsweep but other then that decent match. Benjamin hitting an Exploder on a man that size is impressive... Benjamin is looking really strong unfortunately character wise I don't think Christian looks to be in his league.

-Highlight Reel- What bizarre times we live when Trish Stratus OWNS Jericho on the mic. Really, calling someone a sl*t, how tired. The Y2J of the past would be the one thinking of original stuff like Kiss O' Doom. Freaking Lita has better stuff this week. I like Trish comments on when Lita is all distracted with babies & boyfriends she was making history winning titles(very good line). Lita delivery was once again urh but her response to Trish's accusation of Kiss o' doom was okay. (Too bad Y2J got the fans all distracted by the sl*t comment that added nothing to this segment or feud)... Snitsky walks out with "baby". Snitsky talks like Snitsky with strange pauses & odd emphasis on words. Punts the doll into the crowd as JR calls it one of the most heinous acts he's ever seen on Raw. WAIT! Kicking a Cabbage Patch Kid Doll is the most heinous thing you've seen on RAW!

-Dean interview- Back to back interviews! Where's Bischoff claim of more action? Simon is looking for a ginnie pig(so to speak). Red head in the corner (for a second when I heard him say that I thought they would Lita was still out there). If you are going to have actor plants, for gawd sake have people who can actually act... The red head reaction to him was so phony even in the land of bad acting like wrestling, it was kinda funny that there was a fatter woman behind the red head who was a legit fan. I bet her heart skipped a beat when Dean pointed at her diction. They guy Dean talked to wasn't that fat. The blonde was, she was actually an okay actress. It would be kind of funny if she comes back a month later as a fit blonde valeting Dean, hmmm.

-Tajiri vs. HHH- Or not, as Snitsky attacks Tajiri before he can get in the ring... HHH congratulates him and welcomes him into the club. Snitsky says he not a team player & his he wants a title shot. Not much of a reaction to this from the crowd.

-Benoit vs. Edge- Nothing says main event credibility then having some gimmick ring announcer shouting the entrances, pathetic. Really it's just stupid, write Christy into storylines but for the love of all that's sacred allow Lilian to do her thing. By the way Lilian > Christy in every way possible, including looks... The match was good, but at times especially on the outside looks like they are miss timing and whiffing on eachother. I just don't really understand Benoit cutting a promo of he's going to do something heinous to Edge (punt his favorite doll) and all he did was wrestle his normal technical match, which is not bad but didn't live up to his statements from earlier in the night.

-OtherStuff- Benoit gives a speech of how he's not about catchphrases(and he's 4 real when he says that). He's going to do some drastic things on Edge(Benoit been known to lie lol)... Are they trying to make it that the Pistons did the World title belt stunt to honor HHH lol... Hassan does a promo from a nice neighborhood. If he's a nice guy & gets booed, does this make the wrestling audience heel... King informs everyone that JR is from Oklahoma, JR turns heel reminding the Texas crowd that their 0-5 vs. his boyz...

Edge's speech was way over the top, but good. Maria is trying to keep a straight face I think. Bwhahaha HHH mini bottle, Edge says he wouldn't mind facing HHH for the title the week he wins control of Raw... HHH goes to the back to complain to Batista about how greedy their teammates are, HHH leaves as Batista eyes the title belt. That was nicely done.

-Line of the Night: Ross "That was one of the most heinous acts I've ever witnessed on Raw" - After Snitsky kicked A DOLL!
-Sign of the Night: "Yawn"
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Batista. 2)Edge. 3)Benjamin.

Bischoff said early on the fans want action and for 4 straight segments in the middle of the show there was no matches to speak off. But then again how do we expect mid-card matches when they all were fired this week. How absurd to have JR call a doll punt one of the most heinous things he's seen with all the criminal acts we see on the show... The classic Survivor Series match is interesting they really threw a monkey wrench in there with all the heels making their claim or hinting of going after HHH gold. When they had matches they were good. Don't really know what unspeakable acts Benoit did in the main event. If anything happens to Lilian, I will start doing some unspeakable acts towards the WWE

I'll weigh in.....

WWE is classless for the Arab angle. Mentioning 9/11 in an angle is the lowest of the low. ANd the fans are even worse for booing this guy just because he's an Arab. By golly, I know it's a work, but show a little class.

Wow, three whole matches! Glad we cut that roster, so we could hear all of this endless talking. Simon Dean, the Highlight Reel, HHH's run in with his teammates, pointless other stuff.

The two main matches were really good though. Of course, the smark in me says that WWE should have waited for a PPV, but I won't bitch about good matches.

Gene and Dean are so over the top that they can just be written off as potential major players.

What happpened to Eugeme? And why is Maven on the SS Face Team rather than Regal?

Overall, not bad, but not good either. A pedestrian show that did nothing to make me care. Smackdown is much mroe intriguing than Raw. At least they have the element of surprise.

    Bwhahaha HHH mini bottle

I thought I was the only one who was amused by that..it just looked awkwardly funny. And I have to agree that Jericho's mic work was a bit below par tonight. I don't mind him calling her a slut, but the set up wasn't exactly the sharpest.

I have to also concur about the tastelesness of mentioning 9/11 in a WWE angle. They wouldn't have done this within a few days, weeks or months of the incident..and frankly they shouldn't ever do it. Using the war on Iraq is one thing..I wouldn't mind it as much I'm actually not an easily offended person. But I can't help but be extremely uneasy about incorporating an incident involving real deaths of real people into a pro-wrestling storyline. Sure, the war has that too, but I don't know...we're talking strictly innocent victims here.
And do they want us to boo the guy or cheer for him? Either way, I find this too cheap even for the E's own good.

Well, let me be the first to say, Simon Dean RULES! I like the way his WAY over the top "infomercial voice" is used.
BTW, I like chubby chicks, and the blonde was a cute one!

Anyhow, the 9/11 angle bothers some, because it is only a few years in the past, however, if you listen to what the guy is saying, he says that since then people dont treat him right, and that it upsets him. Perfectly acceptable, IMO, but its when they turn it into "he's a terrorist" I will have a problem with it.

I dont guess its any different than Baron Von Rashke goose stepping though.

Snitzky kicking the baby made me laugh, but, I got no class either, so I guess that explains things.

Batista could be, COULD be the next Austin or Rock. He is untapped gold on the mic, and is learning the craft very quickly. Better than the kick. punch, powerbomb arsenal he had when he got to the WWE.

Am I the only one tired of Trish's giggling when she's cutting a promo?

I was half expecting Benoit to say "I'm going to beat Edge like I was stealing his wife". THAT would rule!

Good show, for me at least.
