WWE.com, amidst the reshuffling of the website, just added the January 9th RAW PPV New Year's Revolution to the schedule.

Vague sked:

November 14: Survivor Series [Dual]
December 12: Armageddon [Smackdown]
January 9: New Year's Revolution [RAW]
January 30: Royal Rumble [Dual]
February 20: No Way Out [Smackdown?]
April 3: WrestleMania XXI [Dual]
May 1: Backlash [RAW?]
May 22: Judgment Day [Smackdown?]
June 12: Bad Blood [RAW]
June 26: Great American Bash [Smackdown]

Looks like they're sticking with 4 crossover shows, then 5 for Smackdown & 6 for RAW. I'd expect they'd add another Smackdown show (making for 16 for the year) if they think the market can support it.

The actual PPV was added to their schedule about a month ago, so it's just an addition to the website. Anyway, I think this is a big mistake for them, and I think that most people know that. They don't have the talent or the people on the booking team to be able to put on 12 worthwhile PPVs a year, let alone 15-16. I'd bet money that NYR won't be a very good. It'll be a three hour Raw that just marks time from Survivor Series to the Royal Rumble for Raw. WWE can only milk the golden cow for so long until people get fed up and stop buying the shit altogether. Plus, since they're trying to keep Orton and HHH apart until WM XXI, this just means that they need to find another throw away main event to book.

Another thing, just personal opinion. They ought to keep the off month PPVs as property as a certain brand (i.e. Armageddon ought to be a Raw PPV again). I think that would help give the brands a more separate, distinct feel. But my anti-brand split rants are for another day.

I assume this is the PPV to be held in Puerto Rico. So that'll at least make money on the house.

So is this another one that will draw poor buy rates? Let me get this straight, they want me to shell out roughly $120 (that's the PPVs plus taxes) for a bunch of crap that'll just have return matches on the respective shows ... yeah, right ...

But they don't have their hometown hero Nidia to cheer for... I thought she was going to win the Women Championship on that PPV for certain.

I'm not sure I would have put it on the schedule where they did. With the gap between the Rumble and Mania this year, why not put it in between the two shows with No Way Out? Was a little awkward last year, having Smackdown being able to use a PPV between Rumble and Mania, and Raw not. Then again, Raw does get Backlash, which is probably one of the bigger PPVs on the schedule.
