Nomar returning to the Cubs under a one year contract wouldn't be any sort of a surprise, but please tell me the benefit to a sign and trade of Clement and Pedro. Both are unrestricted free agents, and are free to go whereever they want. If Boston or Chicago wanted Clement or Pedro, they'd probably just negotiate the deal themselves.
Besides, when a player signs a contract with a new team, he can't be traded until like May of the season that the contract is for. (Or something like this.) | TigerFan55

Well according to Around the Horn there is a rumor of the Dodgers taking Sosa off the Cubs hands for SHawn Green, don't know how much of a contract difference there is there.
