Caught some pieces of the inaugural Charlotte BET-cats game and from what I saw - I don't think that they'll be that awful. Just one game and it was against the Wiz, true, but they don't look that bad.
- Emeka Okafor is my early ROY candidate. 19 and 10 are some nifty numbers to put up. - Primoz Brezec, who was getting NO PT in Indy, put up decent numbers in the preseason and is continuing to do so. 15 and 9. - If Okafor and Brezec keep putting up numbers like these, the Cats have a nice frontcourt to build around. And in the East, that's going to come in handy in the future. - Steve Smith, 6th man, works well. Fans in Charlotte love him to death which is awesome. - It was nice to see Jason Kapono try to expand his game and do something other than shoot 3s. He did attempt to play some D even though it got him five fouls. - Gerald Wallace is also another work in progress. He's fun to watch at times but he can't shoot nor can he handle the ball (7 TOs). - The Cats were in the game from beginning to end and they actually shot well (47%). It was the FTs (21-32) and TOs (19) that done them in. They only lost by 7 and they even put up a 30-spot in the 3rd quarter.
Just a quick final note from Inside the NBA on TNT: - Kenny says they'll win 19. Magic says 20. Chuck says 25.

I had the game on as background and aside from noting that the Kings were right to unload Wallace I couldn't tell you anything about the game except that I loved hearing Ric Flair get respect from everybody working for C-SET. (Also, I hope C-SET doesn't cost extra for Charlotte cable subscribers.)
Is Commissioner Stern just following the Wizards around? Last night, Charlotte; two nights ago, Memphis.
