On Showtime at 9:00 ET/PT. Should be a good one. Who knows how Tszyu will look after such a long layoff? It didn't hurt Trinidad's punching power, but Mitchell should be a lot harder for Tszyu to hit than Mayorga was for Trinidad.
My prediction: I love Tszyu, but I think Mitchell will prove to be too elusive and will win a unanimous decision. I hope I'm wrong, though.

I will probably head to the pub and watch this on Sunday arvo. I hope "Australia's Own" Kostya Tszyu can win. Like most people, I think it comes down to whether Kostya can tag Mitchell early. Lovemore N'Dou reckons Tszyu needs to win inside 7 or he'll lose on points. I'll go along with that. Even against Judah, Tszyu wore too many before the punch that won it. Mitchell, despite all the trash he's talking about Tszyu, won't be as stupid as Judah. My official, non fence sitting pick is Tszyu in <8 rounds.

Tszyu will knock him the f*** out. Tszyu in 7 again.
Tszyu does not get enough credit for being a smart fighter who can figure opponents out. Sharmba has a slick style but it won't be enough - in fact Tszyu had it figured out last fight by the 4th or 5th round. Combine that with his power, stamina, heart, pressure, awkward style, and the fact that Sharmba has the power of a Flyweight, and it's no contest.
What I'm most looking forward to though, is hearing another rendition of Tszyu's personal anthem and entrance song "Something worth fighting for" - hopefully sung live by that crack-whore looking Ruskie that did it last time.
"I'm as hard as rock inside, and I'm gonna knock you out tonight!" Priceless.

Yipes! My funk the last week kind of knocked this off of my radar. Thanks for the reminder!
As for the fight...Mitchell has just impressed the hell out of me as of late...Kostya, not so much. I'm thinking Mitchell in a unanimous decision, let's say 116-112. He'll be able to sneak out of the early Tszyu rush and keep him at bay with movement. Kostya takes some early rounds, but begins to wear down as the fight progresses.

Luckily, Mrs. JJD wasn't in the room when I realized that Tszyu's song was being performed LIVE, because it made me bust out into laughter thinking of Merc screaming "Oh GOD IN HEAVEN NO!" at the TV.
Mitchell MAY have had the worst strategy EVER.
AND, if you didn't watch the fight and there's a replay, try to catch the beginning for the AWESOME interview with Mike Tyson that preceded the fight, where he calls Tszyu a "juggernaut", and has this exchange with Jim Gray (paraphrased):
JG: Mike, how's the knee? Mike: The doctor's tell me I realy need to start working on it, focusing on it getting better. JG: You mean rehabi-- Mike: Yeah, I've been working on it. I didn't today but-- JG: You HAVE been working on it, though? Mike (grinning sheepishly): No, but I'm going to start REAL SOON.
EDIT: Moe mentioned Tszyu's unintelligible pre-fight interview, but I think he should start hanging out with the Klitschko brothers as their Mini-Me.
