Anybody else try this stuff yet? It's...different. My girlfriend and I both kinda liked it. It sorta tastes like those red spiced apples that you get around Christmas.

I was thinking that it was supposed to taste like candy cane, but they just didn't get it right.

It's one of the better ones though. Better then Pitch Black, which I liked as well.

I snagged a bottle in Illinois (p'tooey) on the way to Game 4 of the World Series (Go Red Sox!)

It came off to me like Pepsi with a weak cinnamon flavor. Feh, gimme a Dr. McGillicuddy Fireball & Coke any day.

I believe it's supposed to be Pepsi with cinnamon and ginger flavors, although it doesn't state that on the bottle. I read some article a while back about Pepsi doing seasonal sodas. LiveWire for summer, Pitch Black for Halloween and now Pepsi Spice for Christmas. They mentioned in the article that Spice is supposed to be cinnamon and ginger.

And for the record- I thought Pepsi Spice was HORRID. It's rare for me to come across a soda I don't like, especially a Pepsi product, but I couldn't even drink one glass of this stuff. Tasted like they ground up some kind of holiday potpori and dropped it in there.

I wish they would keep Pitch Black year 'round. It's now my favorite Mountain Dew variety.

I guess with Spiced Pepsi, Pepsi is trying to prove that if you add enough cassia, it'll taste like Coca-Cola. Like many other sodas, the colder it is, the more palatable it is, but I don't think I'll invest more in it than the 99 I spent on the 2l bottle for trial purposes.

On the other hand, I completely concur with Eradicator on the Pitch Black. I can't stop buying it - mainly because it's $1.98 for 12 around here. I don't know what I'll do when it's gone...of course, I said that about LiveWire, and I hardly touch the stuff these days.

I am not a fan of the Dew, but Pitch Black and that Live Wire are damn good. The Holiday Pepsi tastes like watery cinnamon. It was straight up nasty, like watching Martha Stewart dance at Beansnappers(actual club here in WI)

I think it's pretty good with Jack Daniels in it, but then again, I think everything is pretty good with Jack Daniels in it, so take that for what it's worth.

Personally, I like the new spiced Pepsi. It's got a more mellow flavor than I expected, a lot like the subtle vanilla in that Pepsi flavor. If they make a Diet Pepsi Spice, I'll buy it by the case.

Pitch Black, on the other hand, is awful. Worst PepsiCo creation I've had, and I remember Crystal Pepsi and Pepsi Blue. I have friends here in IL who basically live off of Dew IV drips, and they won't touch Pitch Black. Ugh. Tastes like liquid terrible.

To me, Pitch Black is like hot Chinese mustard. I don't know if I like it, make a sour face when I drink it, complain, but have more.

So I guess I do like it if I keep buying it.

Baja Blast almost tastes like the blue Gatorade, Frost I think. Good stuff.

And now, soda that tastes like a complete turkey dinner:

http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/041108/85485_1.html

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 2004--Jones Soda Co. .... announces today its limited edition holiday pack of five new seasonal flavors which includes: Green Bean Casserole Soda, Mashed Potato & Butter Soda, Fruitcake Soda, Cranberry Soda and Turkey & Gravy Soda.

"Our holiday pack takes the work, worries and cost out of preparing a turkey dinner, so our consumers can spend more time with their loved ones. We even included utensils," says Peter van Stolk, President & C.E.O. "We realized consumers are concerned about the 2,000 calories that each full holiday meal contains. That's why we made our sodas zero calories and zero carbs. Now, you can enjoy all the mashed potatoes and butter without worrying about the carbs."

Didn't they do the turkey and gravy flavor last year?

Green Bean Casserole Soda? Ugh.

The unexpected success of Turkey & Gravy led to the full-meal deal.

The AP story in newspapers today says that the Mashed Potato soda is "aggressively buttery-smelling". The quote from chief executive Peter Van Stolk after pouring some is priceless: "Oh man, I can't drink that!"

On topic: I tried the Holiday Spice Pepsi, and I actually liked it. It was exactly as advertised, mild with a bit of spiciness. I can't see myself walking around casually with a bottle of it, but I think it would compliment holiday dinner foods perfectly.
