| #1 Posted on 25.10.04 1012.34 Reposted on: 25.10.11 1012.44 | In a nod to JayJayDean, here is the playoff seedings for the top 10 teams in each conference. The bottom six for each conference is not in any order, other than record, then conference record. Doing detailed tie-breakers at this point in the season would be silly.
I have added how many games back the bottom 10 teams are from the last wild card slot.
EDIT: I lied. The Denver loss moved them down to third, the Bengals move up into 12th.

While I think it would be great if the Lions made the playoffs AND have a possible second chance should they lose the wild card game, I don't think the loser of either the Jets-Jags or Lions-Rams would advance to the divisional games. | Zeruel

Who would have thought that, after having great teams last year, that the following would happen after week 6: Dallas, KC & TN would have 2 wins. And Carolina & Miami, without Ricky, would have just a win.
I hope Emmitt has a few more 100 yard games. What a crazy just over a third of a season so far.

| #5 Posted on 25.10.04 1150.34 Reposted on: 25.10.11 1152.47 | Seems like both conferences have two surprisingly good teams (Pittsburgh & Jacksonville in the AFC, Detroit & NY in the NFC) and two astonishingly shitty ones (come on down Miami and Tennessee, Carolina and Dallas).
The others with surprisingly bad records thus far like KC and Tampa strike me as being still able to turn things round if they start getting a few breaks. But then the way things are with parity these days most teams could claim that to some extent
I'll be amazed if either the Giants or the Lions can hold on to a playoff spot. It would take a special sort of shittiness for Seattle to 'keep up' their current form for much longer.
The sheer ineptitude of the Skins surprises me too. I thought they'd go 8-8 or 9-7 at least this year, but it seems like it might take Gibbs a bit longer to sort things out down there. Not that thats a bad thing mind. | JayJayDean

Well done.
EDIT: Reading Dave's post reminded me of the MNF promo during last night's game.
AL: Next week we've got the Dolphins visiting the Jets, but the FOLLOWING week, we've got Daunte Culpepper and the Vikings taking on Peyton Manning and the Colts. JOHN: THAT's one of those "cha-ching" games...just start totaling up the points now. AL: Isn't that the truth.
They sound SO excited for next week's game.

I wouldn't be if I were them either. Geeze, even Dolphins fans can't be very excited. You win and you lose draft position, you lose and well, you lose some more. Now the next week, with Peyton and Daunte~! Go MaddenBus. | dunkndollaz

I don't know why--and I do realize it's only one loss--but my excitement for the Broncos this season was killed dead after Monday night. Hopefully things start to pick back up after Sunday, as I'm trying to score some tickets to the Broncos/Texans game. | Net Hack Slasher

Cincy defeating Denver, Miami over St.Louis, Jacksonville over Indy, KC blowing out Atlanta has to be considered a minor upset at least and Phily almost lost to Cleveland... | #11 Posted on 28.10.04 1847.14 Reposted on: 28.10.11 1847.37 | Seeing that, and remembering all the buzz about how the Titans/Packers game was the end of the road for one of the teams is kinda surprising. The Titans, are in a worse spot than that Packers, who have a better seed as of right now in their respective conference. I guess anymore, you can't tell how the NFL will shake out until about week 12-13.
I thought we were out of it...but I think we'll play well in November/December, and maybe slip in as a Wild Card, if not come back and win the division...it's been done before. | Broncolanche
