Spiderman should be good though. I will definately see it unless the critics tear it a new one when it comes out.

Interesting casting with Tobey Maguire in the lead. He's never done a role I didn't like and it will be interesting to see how he'll fit into this...and how the script will fit into him. | Y2Disco

| #14 Posted on 1.4.02 0743.53 Reposted on: 1.4.09 0743.53 | Unfortunately I won't be able to see it opening day and maybe not opening weekend at all since I'll be too busy drinking, smoking Maker's Mark cigars and recovering from Derby. I might go see it on the following Monday since I also have to take that day off to recover.
Funny that it takes 2 days now to recover from the fastest two minutes in sports. Of course, the drinking marathon actually begins on Thursday, and the intake of probably 10% of the alcohol and 75% of the tobacco that I'll have in one year is crammed into one 3-day period probably has something to do with it ;-)
All of that nonsense being said . . . I'm excited about the movie being a huge comic book fan and a Spider-Man fan in general. However, I'm not liking what I've seen of the trailers so far other than the special effects. I'll try to block out my Spidey lore when I see the movie, but it will probably be VERY difficult and hurt my enjoyment of the movie. Of course, I enjoyed the hell out of X-Men, so there is hope. | Slestak

| #16 Posted on 1.4.02 0932.38 Reposted on: 1.4.09 0932.54 | I'll probably go see it in June sometime. It definitely has the look of a "gotta-see-it-on-the-big-screen" flick, but I'll wait a while for all the fanboys to get it out of their system. Maybe I'll see it on a school night...
These are also my *exact* thoughts about Episode Two, which I saw the new trailer for before "Panic Room" (which was about 932 different flavors of awesome, BTW.) I think the only movie I'm really fired up to see that I've seen the preview for is "The Bourne Identity," which looks very cool. | Derek Burgan

What's odd is that I thought that was the best part of the trailer. Granted I'm a spider-man freak and I'd go see it even if it was complete crap, but that trailer made it look like a must watch and actually ended on a cool note (that being the Superman line). | Dr Unlikely

| #18 Posted on 2.4.02 1134.28 Reposted on: 2.4.09 1138.07 | I used to watch The Chinese Web and the Deadly Dust all the time after they got around to putting them out on video. I haven't seen either in maybe...15 years or so? Geez. I miss that badass web cartridge belt.
I'm sure I'll go see the Spider-man movie, even if I think casting Willem Dafoe, who looks like the Green Goblin, then covering his face with a full mask is pretty dumb. As long as they have him do the "flips around on a horizontal flag pole into a perch, then shoots a web and swings off" thing, how bad can it be?
I do think Ang Lee would have been a better Superman director than The Incredible Hulk, though. Which is to say I'd rather see him direct a Superman movie than a Hulk movie. I'm sure the Hulk could direct a Superman movie just fine. | dunkndollaz
