This could be a good idea ... I've always thought that Heat could use a belt to build around week after week, rather than random mid-card matches. This is just a rumor of course.

It's better than the nothing we've been getting so far. It'd be great to see Tajiri go against someone besides Test! | The Vile One

If they cut down all the stupid recaps and backstage segments and allowed the CW longer time for matches it could work. But does anyone really think the WWF would do this? | UAsnake2002

It would definitely be a good idea to re-introduce some of the talent, such as Mark Henry and Billy Kidman, plus also give ring time to Maven, because whether you like the Maven experiment or not, the WWF needs to do all in its power to milk the TE cash cow now because by the end of this second set, I honestly can't see a TE 3 in the near horizon.

Or nobody's fault, just the reality that a lightheavyweight title contender going for world heavyweight gold stretches the limits of disbelief.
Chris Jericho came to the WWF because he carried the cruiserweight label in WCW and couldn't shake it. I'm sure there are other examples, but I'm drawing blanks right now.
edit: remember, there is a big difference between being a cruiserweight and actually being recognized as a cruiserweight by the WWF.

They let TAKA have some offense, even a near fall or two, and people were buying that TAKA might win. It was a good match too, if I remember.
Of course, there was also Rey Mysterio, Jr "Giant Killer" in WCW.
I wish they hadn't dropped the Light Heavyweight title...but I'd like it even more if they actually TAKE DOWN the graphic for it on the web sites if they are only going to recognize the cruiser belt.
Quick aside: think they'll get around to taking the WCW off the cruiserweight belt anytime soon? | TheBucsFan

It would certainly make the shows worth watching.

The WWF must be listening to you. wwfsuperstars.com shows the "WWF Cruiserweight Champion" Tajiri, and does not show the Light Heavyweight Champion X-Pac, like it has for like the past year. But I see what you mean. The graphic for the belt clearly says "ght Hea" on it. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
