It's neither genius, nor selling-out. And it's not like every "seriously, look at the real artistic ability I have" song he's released is amazing.

THIS song is obviously just going throught he motions, and I'm sure Eminem would admit it. Looks like more effort went into the video than the song itself.

And I wish Al had done that video even without Eminem's blessing. Eminem must be pretty fking insecure if every other video he does is mocking people, but then if Al wants to do one of him (when he didn't even have to ask, but did just to be courteous), he says no.

I don't think it's an issue of Eminem's insecurity, he just takes "Lose Yourself" REALLY seriously.

Weird Al finds himself as Eminem

"Basically, Marshall was somehow afraid a Weird Al video would detract from his legacy or perhaps make people see him in a less serious light," he says. "Even though I don't agree, I certainly have to respect his feelings."

and

Dennis Dennehy, a spokesperson for Interscope Records, describes "Lose Yourself" as something that's very personal to Eminem.

"He's aware of what Weird Al does and he's fine with the song being parodied. In terms of the imagery of the video, he wants it to remain intact," says Dennehy.

I am shocked that VH1 is going to have a "meeting" about it. I figure since they were owened by MTV, and MTV is going to continue to air it, that they would also continue to.

At approximately 6:55a.m. yesterday morning, with a bit of a disclaimer by Nicky Hilton, Eminem's "Just Lose It" video aired on VH-1. The disclaimer basically said that Madonna and MC Hammer were also mocked in the video and since neither Hammer of Madonna got angered over the video and possibly see the joke in it, they would continue to air the video. It came off as a "Get over yourself because this stuff happened a decade ago" statement, but maybe it was her delivery. Or maybe it's just my feelings.

Scary Movie 3 and South Park ripped on Michael, and he's got a problem with an Eminem video?

Is simply dressing up like celebrities a parody? Shouldn't Em like DO something? Oh, look he's dressed like Pee-Wee, oh now he's Madonna. How brilliant (sarcasm).

Ditto, Micheal been slammed all his life. It started back in the day with ole Wierd Al who at least slammed him legally and made parodies of his songs. He should be used to it by now so he should stop whinning about it. Besides I though the parody that Eminem did was hilarious...anyways he pleaded not guilty. So he shouldn't be mad.

Jacko at least got royalties from the Weird Al songs since they still used his melodies.

Man, after seeing Eminem's newest video, it might be the Republicans who want to do some blocking. Quick, get L. Brent Bozell on the phone!
