Haha, I was thinking to myself 'how long before we shorten it to Triple C.' Then I remember that a certain Raw superstar might see that as gimmick infringement. So far this guy looks pretty, well, cool. And if you don't think so, he might just spit in your face. | TopTenPro

Oh, c'mon! Tell me that Carlito Carribean Cool looks as if he's barely broken puberty!
Oh, and look at dude's hair!!! Is that for real? His gear looks, well, jobtastic, and his name is not only long-winded, but it also sounds like a limited edition flavor of Kool-Aid!
And he always considers himself COOL? He's glad his dad's arch-nemesis doesn't come after him with a fork or a spike!
---Whoa. I think I just caught myself marking out, something I haven't done for a wrestler in either brand of WWE for a quite a long time now!
Honestly, the guy's got the look, apparently he has the skills, and even though he is the United States Heavyweight Champion far too early, I'm VERY impressed with his presence in the ring and the way he plays his character. Every time I look at the guy I feel like shouting obscenities!
Carlito Carribean Cool may very well be the NEXT. BIG. THING. TopTenPro, this guy's gonna go on the Rock's path. Count on it. | JoshMann

Although according to Kurt Angle's calendar, Rey Mysterio won the tag team title at age 12 and the cruiserweight title at 13.

You just compared Carlito to Kool-Aid...and that is not cool.
But me quoting a catchphrase already is kinda half the point about CCC. I don't quote catchphrases EVER, but even just after the viginettes and one TV appearance, I'm digging the character. Even if he's just average or slightly above average as a worker right now, he will get better. But he's got the character down perfectly from Day One, and that should carry him until then.
The only thing left to do is next W who goes to a Smackdown house show/taping has got to try to get an EEEEP-STIEN! EEEEP-STIEN! (ala Goldberg) chant started.

Thank you. You beat me to it, Blankie. But it's still funny. For his next angle, he can bring a note excusing him from wrestling, signed by "Carlito's Mother" | Spaceman Spiff

If they wanna give CCC the belt great (cooler than Cena already, no pun intended), but if they actually wanna make him look legit, can't the guy actually win his debut with his finisher? Isn't that a novel idea. *Sigh* Well, at least we didn't have the "original" finish of Wrestler A is distracted and Wrestler B comes in from behind a rolls him up for the one two three. | JoshMann

Call this a hunch, but most likely they're setting up for a rematch, most likely at Survivor Series, and the fact that Carlito cheated to win (Because, as we all know, CHEATING TO WIN? That's cool ) helps set the table for that. Plus, Cena is going to be moved up the trough whether his work improves or not and needed to stay protected.

The "unwritten rule" that the WWE seems to always bring up os the Rematch Clause. If/when a champion loses a title, they get a rematch at a time (and place) of their choice. | LanceJr

| #16 Posted on 8.10.04 1530.19 Reposted on: 8.10.11 1533.37 | Carlito is cool nuff said. Thats the reason he got the belt. But seriously besides that giving CCC the belt did several things.
1. Cena is off to Australia to film "The Marine" a WWE Films production. And can't be around to defend the belt.
2. Beating Booker at the PPV give Cena the belt and winning the best of 5 series. And since he never lost the belt he got it back making his fans happy.
3. Since the feud with Booker is now over, they have planted the seeds to turn Booker T face as seen on SD!
4. Immediately giving CCC (who is pretty good by the way if you seen and OVW matches) some cred by winning the belt first night in and against a guy like Cena. Sure he cheated, but he's a heel they are bad guys...hello!
5. A continued feud when Cena does come back to go after the title and/or CCC. And since he lost the belt because of a loaded fist, the whole storyline of not losing fairly can continue and his fans will again be happy when he gets the belt back and therefore interest in the story.
See it all works out. Damn people it's a continuing story and its WRESTLING its real right?
