Reposted on: 6.10.11 1828.23 | Here's hoping that HBO busts out all (or most of) his movies and specials in a huge marathon soon. Rodney helped make HBO worth paying for back in the day every bit as much as Beastmaster did.
Legend gets thrown around a lot, but this man was truly a LEGEND in his field, and pretty good branching out into others (acting).
I remember listening to a tape of him live and the funniest part was when he just started ripping on hecklers. He was brutal.

Reposted on: 6.10.11 1944.12 | The most enduring memory I have of Rodney Dangerfield was listening to him, circa 1995, tell us that he still didn't get any respect after the Motion Picture Academy told him he wasn't a good enough actor to be allowed to join their august group. Sometimes, you just have to live the gimmick, and sometimes, the gimmick lives you.
RIP Rodney, I bet you're getting some respect now.
