And I think the rest of the league knows this. He's just not a good baseball player anymore. And, if he was any kind of a stand up guy, he'd take the blame when he screws up. This, I don't agree with. Sammy had a bad year at the bat. Guys have bad years. He had one. But Damn, he played one of his best defensive years ever. I saw him hustle all the time. I can't fault him except that he never got going and struck out a lot more than usual.
But he got beaned early in the year and then he had "The Sneeze" and never came back. But I think after a good rest and recovery, he'll be back to good form next year. He is plus 35, so for most players who aren't on the super sauce, that means on the downward part of your career, but I'll take him for a few more.
I agree with Moises going tho...
I think Steve Stone is the best Color Analyst ever and sure hope he doesn't leave.
