The AMD Athlon family of chips is more efficient clock for clock than the Intel Pentium line. See here: http://18.104.22.168/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=86,E=0000000000177570706,K=2257,Sxi=2,Case=obj(3511) (AMD) and here http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_756_3734^3750,00.html I prefer AMD processors for my home PCs.
