I can handle them losing to Wisconsin, or Purdue, or even That Team Up North, but NORTHWESTERN?! Jim Tressel and his goddamned sweater vest can kiss my ass. Hey Jim, there's this new innovation in football called the FORWARD PASS-you might want to look into it.
Go Boilermakers.
What is this forward pass you speak of? And, frankly, I think they should put Ted Ginn Jr. at QB, Tony Pittman at RB and run the damn option. Justin Zwick is going to kill this team for the next three years. Oh yeah. The defense isn't all that great this year, either. But they'll still end up something crazy like 11-2 and ranked No. 4 because Tressel either has God on his side or cut a deal with the devil. I haven't decided which yet. | redsoxnation

Looking a the College Football Data Warehouse you'll find this interesting nugget.
Notre Dame has NEVER played in Annapolis. EVER. in 77 games against each other. Sure, they play in Baltimore, and East Rutherford, and Cleveland, and Orlando, and freaking Ireland but never in Annapolis. Notre Dame at least will play Air Force on the road, but not Navy.
A lot of that is because Navy knows they can make A LOT more money playing Notre Dame in front of 77,000-90,000 in a pro stadium or selling it to make money overseas. Air Force won't do that because the money doesn't make up for losing the thin air advantage. | whatever

So much for the 11-2 part, anyway. I have to admit, you actually made me think that your plan might not be a bad idea for the offense! However, I do hold out hope that Zwick will get his head together soon and actually start hitting the receivers. Pittman - wow, he's good. Overall though - bad, bad year this year for the Buckeyes. If nothing else though, with the Big Ten and national championship certainly out of reach, they DAMN well better show up against UM. Here's to next year!
So now Wisconsin-Purdue is still set up to be huge. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
