| #1 Posted on 22.9.04 1258.58 Reposted on: 22.9.11 1259.01 | I went to a press screening of Shaun Of The Dead last night, and I have to say it is without hyperbole...the best rom zom com of all time! This movie was everything I hoped it would be, and is probably one of the best films I've seen this year. Great acting and performances by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, great direction, and juicy violence and gore. Shaun's getting a pretty limited release on Friday, but its a great movie and its one of the best nights I've had at a movie in a long time. You will be entertained.
I'll have a link to my official review in a couple days. Any Brits that have already seen Shaun or people who already own the R2 DVD feel free to weigh in . | Promote this thread! | | uberlou

I was at ComicCon this year and sat in on the SOTD Q&A session. Never heard about the movie before, but after the presentation and all, I knew I just had to see this movie. I got my hands on a copy (will refrain from mentioning how. heh.) and i've already seen it twice. It is an awesome movie. I mean c'mon, it's a romantic comedy and a legit zombie flick all in one. It blended and the cast was great. I'm doing my best to spread the word on this movie to friends and all. I've been seeing commercials on Comedy Central alot so I hope people really go out and check this out.
You just have to love Shaun (the character). He's the average working-class guy just trying to make it through another day of the same routine. Definitely someone many people can relate to.

| all the awesome comedy stuff aside, the part where Shaun had to go and shoot his mum was really heart-wrenching, and by that point, you're so into the character of Shaun and everything about him, it became kind of tough to watch it since it left you also thinking, "is he really gonna shoot his mom? he has no chioce...but it's his mom. dear god." one helluva scene right there. |
I don't think this is very spoilerific, but you gotta love it when they were wailing on that guy to the beat of that Queen song. awesomeness.
I'd definitely go and see this in the theaters and/or get the DVD to support these guys, since they really made one hell of a movie and deserve props for it.

It's airing Mondays on Trio in America starting this past Monday. Probably my favorite television show of all time. Also, this movie is an instant classic, and anyone who sees it couldn't possibly be disappointed. If I knew how to post pictures I would post my pictures with Pegg and Frost from when I met them at an advanced screening in Chicago. | The Vile1

I love Queen and also thought it was awesome when they did that bit.

| #6 Posted on 24.9.04 1428.54 Reposted on: 24.9.11 1428.55 | I saw it today, and it was pretty good. I think that it is overrated a bit though. It isn't very scary at all. It got many chuckles from me, but no real huge laughs. I will admit that I obviously don't get all the British humor and verbage, but what I got was pretty good. The ending was okay but the very end was super silly.
