Wow. Maybe it's the norm to have a fast-paced, semi-decent show on with a a good soundtrack. I caught the last 45 minutes or so, and I was impressed. I did not give the show a chance at all, grouping it with Father of the Pride.

Maybe with the lower expectations, I was surprised.

Sure, there are contrived moments in the show, but for now, the pluses outweigh the minuses.

PS -- This does not mean that next week's L&O return including DENNIS FARINA~! will kick its ass... but still...

Every time I read the title of the show, I keep wondering why the created a drama about lacrosse...

Definitely what Marylanders (like us) think of when we see those leters.

I haven't watched it, mainly becasue my expectations were also very low (as in, don't bother). I may give it a peek.

I watched that NBC Fall Preview show a couple of weeks ago, where they showed clips of all the shows debuting this fall. The only ones that interested me were "Father of the Pride" and "Medical Investigation." I remember "LAX" and "Hawaii" looking particularly bad.

Well, working in a hospital makes me think of something far less appealing than lacrosse. (hint, it starts with EX and ends with LAX)

The show was good. I didn't like the doe-eyed customs inspector, though. I don't want him showing up every week with his on-the-verge-of-crying sentimentality.

To use DEAN's "What Didn't Work:"

-- The whole runaway dog skit.

-- Parts of the Filipino woman at Immigration track. The dog never lies. About what? Hell, the dog did a Chuck Barris-Gong Show-era sniff of doe-eyed Immigration guy's crotch. Huh?

I am digging the demoted cop vs. the would-be bomber. There's skeletons hopefully in both of their closets for each of their M.O.'s.

Didn't see the show...
How many shows has Heather Locklear been in now????

I wonder if they show LAX on the monitors at LAX?

That would be like watching "Cheers" at the Bull and Finch pub in Boston--or the time our bus trip video happened to be "Speed".
