PS > He's got huge ears. He's not going to win any beauty contests - but I have to admit I was sad to see Owens and Clement traded away at the beginning of last season. Kotsay turned out to be worth it though...

With these pickups the Cubs stabilized the one area i thought they would be weak in- their pitching. Just like the Cardinals they upgraded their weaknesses and made themselves more than a contender. I'm definitely looking forward to some great Cards vs Cubs matchups. | The Big Kat

| #5 Posted on 28.3.02 0932.51 Reposted on: 28.3.09 0934.15 | Why did Clement lash out at the Marlins when he was traded? I have to think the Cubs have a better chance of making the playoffs than the Marlins. And it's not like he is moving down in the rotation. He was the 5th starter in Florida, and will be the 5th starter in Chicago. Even so, he and Alfonseca are pretty good pickups for a team that really didn't give up much. When I heard about the trade, I thought the Cubs would have to give up Bobby Hill or Hee Seop Choi or some hot prospect like that. But I've never evven heard of the 3 minor leaguers they gave up. | Crimedog

Ya know, this probably isn't the best way to introduce myself, but... Congratulations! You've just committed plagiarism. Next time, howsabout a link to the article you copy & pasted the first three grafs from?
Sorry. This sort of thing really hacks me off. Now, for Clement.
A. He has NASTY stuff. Like Guru said, if can stop walking people that he should be blowing away, he'll be damn good.
B. Big Kat: It's the CUBS. Seriously, I think Clement is more pissed that the Marlins have kept saying "We're trying to compete" and then they do something like this. From a baseball standpoint, this is a really, really dumb move by the Marlins.

If it's something I wrote -- and that's happened -- I tend to get violent. (Or, at least as violent as one can be in an e-mail/message board post.) The lesson? Links are your friends, boys and girls.
As for you wondering when I'd show up, have you been stalking me again? If so, do me a favor and trim the bushes after you're done hiding in them.

No, really. It is.
It's the group of people from my old ez-board and a lot of people from a few other ez-boards that I used to hang out at. We all sort of gave up on EZ board and switched over to my forum.
Anyway, we're admitted snobs It's not public in the sense that I'm trying very hard to keep it off of search engines and we don't advertise it. The first rule of Fight club, and all that.
So -- it's nothing you'd really be interested in, probably. Imagine the Random folder, except that only 20 of my friends post in it instead of everyone here. | thecubsfan

Who knew? No one that day.
Not that it's turned out too well for him either the last few years (or this one: Willis on 15-day DL for anxiety)
Clement was good when he was healthy, but got hurt and still is trying to go back. Alfonseca was up and down. Still, they were useful while they were there. Typical Marlins trade, guys who are about to go up in salary for a bunch of prospects, just hoping one turns out. | Mr. Boffo

I came across that forum years ago. I don't remember how. I think one of you left a link to it on one of your long-forgottten blogs. I remember seeing the space-themed comic that Lise and others were involved with, if that gives some idea of the timeframe.
But I didn't keep track of the link, and I lost it. It was like finding the lost city of Atlantis, and then when I tried to lead others to it, I couldn't remember how to navigate the subterranean maze that guarded its gates. | Crimedog
