I called up Comcast to see if I could pay the game, they said they don't have it. They said I would have to call the NFL. The number they gave me was to ABC which was no help. I have been searching for the number, but no luck. Anyone know how I could connect the NFL or CBS? I bought cable for football, so if there is no football, there is no cable. You should have gotten DirecTV/NFL Sunday Ticket if you wanted football. I have no idea where you live, but, you're subject to whatever local market restrictions apply when you have cable. Plus, you only get three broadcast TV games, plus the ESPN game. At least you can watch RAW now. | A Fan

NFL Guy: Hello, CBS Sportsline.
Me: Hi, I am kinda pissed, I wanted to watch the Steelers game, but I get Baltimore, can you...
NFL Guy: Thank you, your complaint has been logged. (Click of Phone)
Me: What?!
I talked to Comcast again to get the number, they said the decision was a last minute one. The NFL thought since I live in Hershey, Pa that I'd rather see the Ravens than a team in my state. I'm calling the NFL tomorrow and see if they are doing anything about it. I'd rather save myself the extra $30 a month than sit through the loudmouth show of the Ravens. Raw is cool and all, but its not worth it. | Roy.

Right on. I have a friend who has the DirecTV NFL Sunday ticket thing (that might be the only reason that I call him "friend") and he gets all out of market teams. If I could get it where I live, I would, but, alas, the DirecTV guy told me that I didn't have a good view of the sky or something like that. He gets all the Sunday games he wants, and the "local" games (since he either has local channels with DireTV or an antenna, I don't remember) and his MNF game.
Being in Hershey, I think the Eagles are your "home" team, if I'm not mistaken. So if you want to watch the Steelers on a regular basis, you might have to get the DirecTV package. | DrewDewce

I've been a Seattle Seahawks fan since '79 who lives in Kentucky and has gotten to see no more than 8 games a year (and far less in years before bars got Satellite), so I am in HEAVEN that I will see every snap this year (baring a bad storm during one of their games - nothing's perfect).
The TiVo is just a bonus, which came in handy many times today. | bash91

I've said it other places but it bears repeating; Unless DirecTV goes out of business or the NFL decides to eliminate Sunday Ticket, I can't ever see getting cable again. Being able to flip back and forth between the TB-Wash and SD-Houston games, neither of which was available locally, was wonderful. Plus, the fact that the Ticket auto-renews, at a discounted rate (it was 25% off for us this year as repeat customers), just makes it even better.

Double check your lease. If you have a porch or a deck (that's facing in the right direction), your apartment cannot restrict what you put on it. You DO have to mount the dish on something you own, and you can't mount it actually on the building (and, in most cases, in the ground in front of the building), but pick up a tripod from Home Depot for about 20 bucks, and you should be set.
Or do that bar thing, I hear that's a good time too. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
