Obviously, the previous two polls were hugely flawed and have no bearing whatsoever in anything.

Is it not possible that the CNN poll is flawed?

I believe the 11 point polls were taken before Bush's speech Thursday. This is such a fluid situation they also may all be correct or wrong. I believe the only polling that matters is in November.

The polls with him up 11 were after the speech...

Incidentaly, the same CNN poll has Bush up 52-45 among likely voters, which is a more accurate indicator.

I think it's really silly (or more likely wishful thinking) to call the election done especially this year with all the rollercoaster ups and downs from both parties

Remember concerning Electoral Vote Projection, not that long ago in December 2003 the Republicans had a 467-71 lead. Just two months later(Feb04) the Democrats came all the way back and took the lead with 291-247... And it goes the other way as well just a month later(March04) Bush took the lead again with 290-248. Just for Kerry to retake the lead two months later(May04) 337-201. And we all know what the current numbers are now

Late 2003 most considered that 2004 election was a throw away as the Democrats because they had no chance, and we see what happened with that... If I had to guess I would suspect Bush to pull it out, but it's far from a sure thing and if Kerry gets his act together and has a strong couple of months he can turn the current numbers around to his favor, like it's been done a couple of times this calendar year.
