Heh. If the Sox win the World Series this year, then and only then should they proclaim “the curse has been broken!” As it is... sure, it's a unique sense of circumstances, but it's just a kid getting smacked in the mouth with a baseball.

If the Red Sox ever won a World Series, New England wouldn't know how to deal with it, if only because there's so many of them that are only happy when they're miserable (read: when the Sox fail to win when it counts).

But if the Red Sox wins then then the Cubs fans will be even whinier about their curse. Then after they win we would have to listen to the White Sox fans talk about their curse but of course no ones gives a shit about the White Sox.
