Reposted on: 31.8.11 2244.06 | Here's the situation - Within the next few months, I plan on enrolling in one of the MANY pro wrestling schools. I live in Staten Island and my original plan was to go to Afa's Wild Samoan school in Sciota, PA. It's only an hour away from where I live (Staten Island) so it would be convenient to set up shop there. Also, Afa has a reputable name. He's trained Kidman and Batista as well, who both made it (obviously).
However, there's a guy that goes to my gym that laughed when I mentioned the "Wild Samoan" school. He says I should go to Johnny Rodz in Brooklyn if I want to really learn. Rodz trained Tazz, D-Von Dudley, Tommy Dreamer, among others. Brooklyn isn't too far either from where I live, but of course it's a bit more inconvenient because, well, if you live in NYC, you know.
I've checked out the Wild Samoan site but can't find any real hard info on the Johnny Rodz school. As far as I know these are the biggest name schools on the east coast. I want to go somewhere that will give me the best chance of getting a head start in wrestling. If anybody has any kind of advice on which school appears the best bet (training-wise, not location and travel), it would be appreciated like hell. That would probably be a good place to go get trained because it may help you get work quicker then others if you stick with it.
If you go with Rodz or Afa, I'd be prepared to get beaten up but you'll probably have to deal with some of that wherever you go. | wordlife

Reposted on: 1.9.11 0736.37 | I know it's not near your house, but Chaotic Wrestling School in MA has a great reputation. They merged with Kowalski's school recently.
Chaotic is new but they trained Aaron "the Idol" Stevens (WWE developmental talent), John Walters (done some WWE dark matches and is on a lot of ROH cards), and Christopher "Harvard" Nowinski. Kowalski trained HHH, Albert and I know that Jonah from TE III was going there. A kid I used to work with loved going there and said it was good.
