Does the "SK" in "SKLOKAZOID" stand for "Senator Kerry"? :)

Human Rights Watch, Dr. Oscar Biscet, everyone on this list serving a 25 year sentence, as well as Reporters Sans Frontieres are all inclined to disagree with you.

Jimmy Carter told the country things they didn't want to hear, even thouh in retrospect, he was correct on alot of it re the oil situation. Being honest is one of the reasons he lost. People don't want to hear hard truths from the president when a positive lie can suffice and make them feel better. | AWArulz

Jag - there's all kind of people in the world, but the concept of communism as fought bthrough the years of the cold war is effectively dead.
I agree communism is alive. But their convention is over

Perhaps I shouldn't have said "wonderful". Certainly Cuba has it's problems, but they seem pretty minor from what I saw while I was there. They have more democracy that the US and Canada, with a representative for about every 200 people reporting on up the chain to Castro. Everyone seems very informed on the political process and up on international news.
And let's remember that the West is holding politcal prisoners of their own, in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, no less. Enemy combattants...

This is so ludicrous as to be funny, if the people of Cuba weren't so oppressed. The fact that you bought the line the government feeds tourists says something. They're being held without trial or charge. Neither you nor I have been presented with any evidence which proves (or disproves) that they are all 'terrorists plotting to kill us'. Unless of course you count the word of your authorities. Personally I'd like a little more. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
