Put the input from your DirectTV into the DVD/VCR, and then the output from your DVD/VCR. If it has the I/O that is coaxial, I'd go that route.
One more thing -- you'll be able to record what's on that channel of DirectTV solely.

Y'know, I've had DirecTV for almost 7 years now, and I have never had a bad experience with their customer service. I'll grant you that the cable industry has gotten much better than they used to be (my install time on a new cable modem wasn't given as "Sometime this month") but DTV has always done good by me. | Guru Zim
