That's the only one I'd argue with you about, if only because the Big 10 is so weak this year. I don't think anybody is going to run away this year, and wouldn't be surprised if Wisconsin or Iowa wound up in the Rose Bowl. The lack of returning QBs to most of the schools worries me, but we might see the next Brad Banks out there somewhere.
Of course, my dream is PSU somewhere in that mix, but I'll take a low level bowl. They won't be terrible this year, I promise (note: not a promise). | Grimis

I don't share your enthusiasm for Miami getting to the National Title game, and I'm probably the biggest UM fan on this board.
Orange Bowl: Oklahoma (Big 12) vs. USC (Pac 10) Fiesta Bowl: Miami* (at large) vs. West Virginia (Big East) Sugar Bowl: Florida State (ACC) vs. LSU (SEC) Rose Bowl: Texas* (at large) vs. Michigan (Big 10)
If not Miami or Texas, then probably Georgia or Iowa gets an at-large slot

Kyle Orton seems to be the one name being thrown around to be the star QB of the Big Ten. There's a pretty decent crop of RB's coming back in conference - maybe not Heisman contenders but they'll be sure to provide a pretty solid running game while the new QBs adjust.

OK there, Trev.
Seriously, 6 Big 10 teams are in the top 25 (ESPN/USATODAY), so someone thinks they're pretty good. I agree that it's a wide open race, though.
My picks-
Orange Bowl: Michigan (Big 10) vs. LSU (SEC) Rose Bowl: Iowa (at large) vs. USC (Pac 10) Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma (Big 12) vs. West Virginia (Big East) Fiesta Bowl: Miami (ACC) vs. Georgia (at large) | Zeruel

Rose: USC (Pac-10) vs Ohio State (Big Ten) Fiesta: *Nebraska (Big 12) vs. Maryland (ACC) Suger: LSU (SEC) vs. **West Virginia (lil' east) Orange: Hawai'i (WAC BCS#2) vs. Miami (ACC BCS #1)
My thinking (or raving): *Nebraska or Oklahoma, siding with the Huskers. I think their new offence will throw off people enough to squeek out a win or 10. Timmy Chang will go crazy nuts and a non-bcs team will finally get in the top 2.
**If The lil' east champ doesn't have at least seven wins, I expect they will invoke the Big East rule and give that spot to Oklahoma, Kansas State, Iowa, or Wisconsin. For some reason, I think the big one-loss teams will be from a conf with "Big" in it's name. FSU has an outside chance getting that slot if the Big East rule is used.
I actually think that Nebraska will have a good year, and their spot with Oklahoma is interchangable.
Why Maryland? Here's their schedule (as of 8/25) NIU with no Burner Turner. Hopefully the Terps will not take them for granted again. Temple. Bwahahahaha @ WV. MD routed them TWICE last year. They are MD's bitches. @ Duke. zzzzzzzz GT could be a tough game. NCSU, Rivers is gone, we have a chance. @ Clemson. Better than they get credit for. Could be a close one. FSU. If the Terps win, they possibly win the ACC. @ VA. This is the make or break game for the Terps. Could be bigger than the FSU game. @ VT. VT sucks in the fall Wake Forest. zzzzzz
NO MIAMI. If Miami loses to FSU and VT, and the Terps beat FSU and run the table on the other ACC games, they could be the outright ACC champs.
Ya, I'm smoking crack, but I really think that this is the year that a non-bcs school gets in. If they beat FSU in Florida in nov 12th, the voters will give them some props. | wmatistic

Yeah, you're insane.
Nebraska doesn't have the talent it used to. They are trying to run a new west coast offense with option players. It's going to be ugly for a while. It's not like the rest of the Big 12 hasn't seen passing offenses so this will take them by suprise. Oklahoma has been doing it for years now, and HELLLOOOO Texas Tech passes just a little too. Nebraska will suck for a while. Bet on it.
Other than that your picks are ok. Well except for Maryland being FSU's bitch every year, and with FSU looking to be better than they were last year chances are that ain't changing.
Oh and Chang going nuts, considering he couldn't even keep his own starting job last season.
But yeah other than that, just fine.

FSU has a great shot at the title this year (and you KNOW how much admitting that pains me), and they catch a schedule break by not having to play Virginia Tech this season, which is huge, and they catch Miami at a time when they're probably not going to have their shit completely together yet.
They get through the first half of their schedule unscathed and it could be clear sailing, especially if all the spring reports about Rix finally having the light bulb go off are true.
That said, there's a good chance I might be going to the OB for that game when I go down there on vacation next week. It'll be a hell of a game and I'm looking forward to maybe being there, but I think FSU just may be flat-out better than Miami this year. Doesn't mean I won't try to will it to go the other way.
