May I just point out once again how cool these are. Love the detailed records on your website as well. Shane, you must put a lot of time into this, and let it be known that all the effort is appreciated.

HHH The Uni-Champ and he gets #2???

That is almost like Oklahoma defeating #1Kansas for the Big12 Basketball Champ. and O.K. getting a #2 seed for the tourney.

No, it's almost like the fact that Rob Van Dam has a MUCH better winning percentage and quality wins quota. If you read the analysis, you'll see that the top two were very close, and far away from the rest of the pack.

SSS, these numbers get better every week. The analysis is great. And yes, Test got the shaft in the draft (and I'm a poet, and don't know it) ;)

SSS - any way that we can see the numbers for say the top 5 so we can see how truly close they are in the rankings when taking everything into account?

Hey SSS -

Send me an e-mail at some point (or put it here) explaining how you set this up... I've been thinking about this system and the Ortega Lines, and I think there is potential in integrating them into some sort of system... but I haven't figured out how I would go about it yet.

Don't waste any time on it, though. Just give me the 5 second version if you could

I'm still trying to figure out how RVD broke the "Glass Ceiling".

Hang in there S.S.S.

The basic rankings are divided into 5 categories

Number 1: Straight up Win-Loss Records. (25%)

Since not all wrestlers will have the same number of matches, this is settled by the number of wins over .500

Example: Triple H is 8-4. Steve Austin is 7-3. They are both four wins over .500 so they are equal in this section. Say somebody was 84-80. They too would be equal.

Number 2: Quality Points (25%)

For every singles win, the wrestler picks up one point. For every tag win, the wrestler gets a half-point.
For every title defense, a wrestler gets one point.
For every title loss (this includes if a champion loses by countout or DQ,) the wrestler loses a point.

Number 3: Strength of Schedule (25%)

The wrestlers at this point are ranked in order using only the first two categories. This is the strangth list. Then you take the list of whom said wrestler has fought this year. The average of all the opponents is the SoS.

Number 4: Fan Votes (20%)

A number (usually around ten) of fans, both mark and smart, and from various means of polling (website, real life, etc) are asked to list off their top ten wrestlers so far in 2002. Top votes gets ten points and so on.

Number 5: Championship Advantage (5%)

The champions get a quick boost ranked by the order of championship value.

Current value: Triple H (World); Rob Van Dam (Ic); Billy n Chuck (Tag); William Regal (Euro); Tajiri (Crusier); Jazz (Women's)

As for Robert, we've actually tried to put it together a few times. He's actually been quite a help, even making me a few PDFs to try out. I, sadly, am too stupid to make them myself. But there are a few issues we do not always agree on in regards to win-loss (he counts the Royal Rumble a loss, I ignore nWo run-ins, etc..) So we've decided to have differing view and sort of be like the AP and USA TODAY of wrestling stats.

I'll put out an extra detailed version next week so you can see all the numbers and how they fit. Plus, since I'm doing that, I may as well make it the first edition of the rankings with all 65 current roster members.
