Sound like Brock is getting a very warm welcome by his teammates. I'm sure Vince and the WWE are getting good laughs over this.

And given that he's already played in an exhibition game, has made his way onto the NFL.com depth charts, has his jersey for sale on the Vikings website, and has heard Mike Tice (who at one point wanted nothing to do with him) say publicly that he'll likely make the practice roster, he probably couldn't care less how loudly Vince wants to laugh over this.

What happened was standard fare for rookies, and if all accounts are true it's much less than some guys used to get in the WWE locker room. The fact that Brock didn't freak out over this is, I think, a very good sign of how the NFL experiment is working out.

The depth chart lsist him as
Height: 6-2
Weight: 285

How close is this to what the WWE listed him?

If memory serves, the WWE had him at about 6-4, 295. I just re-watched SummerSlam 02 the other day and that was the tale of the tape on him then.

Although I'm sure it's easier to drop 10 pounds than to drop 2 inches. :)

I'm shocked that he's only 6"2. I know they always exaggerate heights and wrestling and all, but still....

Maybe they measure height when he's on the field wearing cleats, and he's sinking into the fertile Minnesota tilling soil.

This means either one of two things:

a) All wrestlers *gasp* have their height lied about.

b) Lesnar went shopping at the same boot store that Jericho shops at.

Then again, by contrast, the NFL tends to undersize their players (see Brown, Gilbert; Washington, Ted and the newest member of the NFL's "330, My Ass" Club Wilfork, Vince)

Actually, Lesnar never struck me as particularly tall. He's huge in other ways, so that might throw you off, but when I saw him in the ring with wrestlers of modest height, he never seemed to be towering over them -- and the really big guys always looked like they had a good six inches on him.

I wonder how long 'til they pan the crowd to show Sable wearing the number 69 Lesnar jersey.

This was most noticeable when he was in the ring with Big Show, Matt Morgan, and Nathan Jones.

If you believe IWC rumours, it's probably a lot less humiliating/painful than what the likes of Bradshaw or the Undertaker did to him when he was a wrasslin' rookie.

Well I was kind of thinking Vince is still a little mad about how Brock just dumped him. Vince fired Sable as possible revenge. You would think Vince would be taken the airwaves since Brock is giving the WWE major publicity. Have you seen Vince do any interviews crediting Brock?

But I'm sure these things happen in the WWE too. Remember the trip from hell?

Vince was asked not to, as it would look like a publicity stunt.

And this is a standard rookie hazing. The pinning bit is new, tho.

I would think Vince would want Brock to do well, it would only serve to lend some credibility to the claim that his wrestlers are among the world's greatest athletes. The better Brock does in the NFL the better WWE is going to look.

He's come farther than many expected he would, but Brock's got nothing to be cocky over quite yet. Practise squad is not his goal.

I met him in the Louisville airport a while back and I would have said about 6'2", 6'3. Shorter than me, but looks tall because he's so large in the torso. Shorter than me, but not too much. (6'4" & 1/2")

Sounds like he's pretty much made the team. The tradition of hazing rookies like that is only secured for the rookies who are "part of the team" as one might say.

And Vince might not have liked the way Lesnar's departure happened, but he's definitely loving the free publicity. Not only does it speak volumes about how talented some of his wrestlers potentially are, but it's been widely talked about how much money Lesnar was earning in the WWE. And I think that surprised a lot of people who didn't know wrestling could be so profitable for some of its performers.

I am surprised that this happened as usually only rookies who are going to make the team get this treatment. I had heard he was only projected to make the practice squad, getting paid 70k a year. I have read they love his athletics, he just really needs to develop his football skills. The practice squad and NFL Europe would help alot in that area. Maybe he will make the team, in special teams or something.
