If you get both shows. I know UPN isn't available everywhere in the states and neither is the Score in Canada. The Smackdown show is just so much more stacked than the RAW show. RAW has some big names on it, but most of them are old and approaching 7 feet in height. There's nothing wrong with big guys, but they just don't deliver the same quality of matches that the guys over on Smackdown do. Alot of people are going to be left out in the cold here. As of now, when/if Austin comes back he has to be on RAW and so does Triple H whenever he loses his titles. They're either going to have to do some major roster tweaking at the smackdown tapings tonight or else they are going to be in for alot of trouble with the RAW show.

Flair sure can wrestle, but he totally sucks at drafting talent.
I don't get UPN in Oklahoma, so I'm totally screwed. I was just starting to like the Rock/Hogan alliance and Billy and Chuck. Benoit and Jericho are there too, and so is Storm, Kidman and Tajiri (probably the entire crusier divison as well, which will include Rey and Eddy).
I'm seriously thinking about watching Raw every week, but buying only the Smackdown PPVs. I know we should all give it a chance to play out, but I'm extremely pessimistic about the Raw roster.
I feel cursed.

Problem is - Jericho, Storm, Kidman, & Tajiri were "lottery picks". The method behind the "lottery" was never discussed - it could be that, after the Top Ten, wrestlers were randomly assigned to each roster. It would explain how the APA split, but the entire of Team 2-Xtreme landed on one side.

I have trouble believing that the WWF actually just randomly assigned dozens of workers to each show. I'm guessing the lottery is just the story for how the split occured, and if there was anything involved that was random, it was just the order in which each person went after the Raw draft, rather than the side they ended up on.

That draft was most painful to watch. Vince's first pick was just an excuse to get Rock out there and go on and on and get a new catchphrase going. Then, they breezed through the Booker, Big Show, Edge, and Rikishi picks and then again from Brock Lesner to the end as if they were just thoughtless picks. I mean, I guess that was nice, because it got all the drafting crap over with sooner, but it showed how utterly pointless and worthless the whole process was. But, hell, they had all those cool graphics just like they do on the real drafts, so I guess that makes up for it, eh?

Another stupid anomaly: why could Flair draft the nWo, but the Dudley Boyz got split up? Bubba Ray could get over in singles, but D-Von will die on the vine. I could see why the tag champs got stuck together, but then why wouldn't Vince have to give up one of his picks since he got two guys?

Oh wait, I'm sorry... I'm trying to introduce logic into an argument that involves the authorship of a WWF storyline. What the hell was I thinking?

The nWo went together as part of one of Vince's evil plots. And Vince did give up a pick in order to get Billy and Chuck, just as Flair had to lose 2 to get the nWo. They just happened to be given up at the very end.

I have trouble myself just believing that wrestlers were just randomly assigned to a roster. Hopefully the WWF has storylines ready to go to give each wrestler something to do and not just take up a spot on the roster. I have to believe there was some reason the wrestlers were placed where they were placed.

This is wrestling. I doubt the WWF rigged a lottery...

Uh... Are you being sarcastic here? Nothing in wrestling isn't rigged. Everybody ended up where there currently are for a reason that will be determined at a later time.

Sarcastic? Noooooo. He always talks like that, it's a speech impediment. I'm sure he'd just "love" to be your friend.

Over under on anyone getting that reference?

In all seriousness, I think they're trying to build RAW as an "appeal to former WCW fans" show. All the more "colorful" catch-phrase-a-riffic performers are on Smackdown, while the more down-to-earth, serious types are on RAW. If somehow Benoit gets traded, the circle would be complete.

If booked right RAW might end up being the better show. No Angle or Benoit or even the Rock, granted, but no Billy and Chuck or Scott Taylor or DDP either. If they manage to get RVD or Raven or Brock over as top level players (massive if, I know), RAW could end up being hellacool.
