Mathias Anderson is without a doubt one of the rudest players I have ever seen. I hope when this bum loses that someone just goes on and doesn't say a word in order to teach him some class. Otherwise last night was a really good episode and they are doing a great job with the editing to show you the really good hands.

No doubt. When I watch poker on tv, I hardly ever actively root against a specific player. I am almost always rooting for my personal favorites and not against their opponent. However, I really hope this horse's ass loses and soon.

What I hate most about Pizza Face (great name!) is that he screams regardless if he's a favorite or a dog, and regardless if he's got the other player covered or not. If you can't take the emotional roller coaster that is no limit hold 'em, you should switch to limit.

And in Mathias's case, he also needs to switch to decaf. I cannot wait until he busts out.

Had a great laugh at the guy that overslept and lost about 200K to the antes and blinds. What the hell was he thinking?

I hate the stupid guy with the hologram glasses way worse the Matthias.

My favs have all gotten knocked out, so I really don't knw who to root for now. Sammy Farha, the guy with the "elegant two-fingered check" who sat next to Chris Ferguson, Mike Madusow, Danny Negraneu (or however you spell it). I think I'll pull for Josh Arieh.

I'm rooting for the Polish loudmouth Marcel and the 21 year old college kid who missed the beginning of the last round. BTW, he lost around 200,000 in blinds by not showing up, but they said he was back up 500,000 by the end of the round.

Josh Ariea really made himself look out to be an ass when he won that hand on the river and then told the other guy who was in the hand with him that he was stupid for even staying in the hand. Ariea really could be a nice guy, but the editors chose that clip to show so that's all I really have to go by.

As for Pizza Face (reminds me of Poker Face, lol), I don't mind him showing all that enthusiasm too much. It will just make it even better when he gets eliminated. I bet he faints or does something equally stupid.

Where was Sam Grizzle this year? The highlight of last years event for me was the showdown between him and Hellmuth.

It's worth noting that Matias plays and actually won his 10K entrant fee on the PokerPages site Hobbes mentioned previously. The T-Shirts/caps he's been wearing are plugs for the Real Money section of the site. They've been mentioning his performance and finish pretty heavy since the WSoP, so you'd have to be purposely avoiding their news pop up or really oblivious not to know his finish. (Hobbes?)

It's also worth noting I WON A (free) RAZZ TOURNAMENT MONDAY on that site, though that has nothing to do with anything. Picking out the good surronded by bad, how did I ever gain that skill.

Back on topic: It looked like the Crew were playing a different site - though I have no idea which, there's a ton - when they had their profile segment earlier this season.

Magic the Gathering explains SO much.

You're 21, you know you're about win more money than you've probably had in your lifetime and you feel like you're going to win the greatest poker tournament in the world in your first try. It's Las Vegas. You're 21. I'm thinking the problem might have not been as much the oversleeping, but what he was doing before he was sleeping (or instead of it.)

The sad thing is I followed the results live during this year's WSoP but since I live in Canada````` I can't watch any of it. No Celebrity Poker, no World Poker Tour! Hopefully TSN will pick up this year's event as they showed the 2003 WS quite a bit as well as a few other things. If not, I may get so pathetic and desperate that I'll actually make the leap and buy it off eBay.

I have repeatedly emailed TSN asking when/if they were showing the WSoP to no avail.

We DO get the WPT here in Alberta, though...it's on a station called Access on Friday nights.

Don't hate on FossilMan. Greg is actually a really cool guy, who will help even the most amateur player dissect their play on the 2+2 forums.

Off-topic, I wonder how many of the people, be it here or in general, who watch these WSOP events do so with no previous knowledge of who is going to finish where. Since I spent those days basically watching the real-time coverage on the net, for me it's cool watching and waiting for the hands that everyone was talking about or incidents that got lots of play. But I do kind of wish I were going in blind...though I think it would drive me nuts waiting week after week to see who won...it's like the worst traits of Monday Nitro come back to us :)

I've also enjoyed Raymer. He's one of the few new faces who wins AND loses hands with class. The way he quietly handled Matusow's pathetic display (who I really worry for... he should be on suicide watch or something) instantly made me a fan.

I know everyone reads Brunson's book on how to play, but they should also WATCH him play to learn how to act...

Well, the final round has now aired (If you haven't watched it, don't go further). All I can say is I wish Josh Arieh had gone out earlier. After last week and then this week, with two instances where he couldn't believe the guy(s) called (even though they had better hands) and made them out to be idiots because they did, I was happy to see him go. And I hope not to see him much next year.

I was pulling for David Williams, mainly because I got a kick out of Marcel, and David seemed genuinely appreciative of all the help he got from Marcel. That and Greg had the chip lead...

Marcel and Daniel Negreanu are two people who generally look like they are having fun... they really enjoy playing poker.

I presonally root for the old guard - Brunson, TJ Coultier, Harrington, Howard Lederer - with Phil Ivey and Negreanu in there as well. And also Barry Greenstein, who donates all of his winnings to charity... although I don't think he was in the WSOP this year.

He was a Santa Barbara local who attends the community college here. And if I had to pick one person to oversleep while playing in the WSOP, it would be the 21 year old from Santa Barbara. Fits the SB college student stereotype PERFECTLY...

Some good poker news for all us Canadians. I was browsing the TSN.ca TV guide and I found this:

Friday, September 24, 2004
4:30 PM 2004 World Series of Poker: No Limit Hold 'Em ($2000)

Saturday, September 25, 2004

4:00 PM 2004 World Series of Poker: Seven Card Stud ($1500)
5:00 PM 2004 World Series of Poker: No Limit Hold 'Em ($1000)
6:00 PM 2004 World Series of Poker: Pot Limit Omaha ($2000)

The listings end at the following Tuesday but it looks like TSN is going to go whole hog with the 2004 World Series and show the prelim events and everything. All times are west coast bitch and all shows are one hour long so that means three straight hours of poker next Saturday! It's like Christmas in September! I'm a geek!

And if you're really desperate for something to tide you over til Friday, TSN is also showing a half hour WSOP 2003 Memorable Moments show on Monday at 1:30.

What do people think of Action Dan Harrington's bluff? That was a thing of beauty. He saw Ariah slumping in his chair and thought that Raymer would not come into a small pot and fold to him. Such a beautiful play that only a WSOP champion can get away with.
