Apparently within the Counter-Strike: Source beta that just started there are files that reveal some or all of HL2's storyline (voice files from the game).
Valve is great at testing people's patience between the now-required Steam service, being deceptive about release dates and progress on the game, carelessly allowing their source code to be stolen delaying the game further...and now this. It's not going to take much more to drive people off completely. I was anticipating this game quite a bit since I'm a big fan of the first one (and mods for it), but even I'm starting to grow tired of it.
Naturally, fan-made rumors have started that this latest development is going to be an excuse Valve uses to delay it even longer. I have my doubts about that, but at the same time it wouldn't surprise me. | Promote this thread! | | PalpatineW

How bout that CS: Source, though? I'm hoping the gameplay is sufficiently tweaked, but all I've seen/read form Valve/elsewhere says it's the exact same damn game in the new engine. I'm going to be a little disappointed if people are still getting headshots while hopping around. Always been one of my CS pet peeves. | KaneRobot

Not a CS fan really...when I play HL mods, 90% of the time it's Day of Defeat or Natural Selection. Still, like you hinted at, I do want to try it out just to see if it's just regular CS with prettier graphics and floppy character models, or if it's actually a better game. I have a feeling it's the former, but we'll see.
Now NS on Source...Agh. Please. Now. Thanks. | Anti_Guy

The Source Engine hopefully will solve the issue with our bunny-hopping/jumping friends getting constant headshots (either that or their hacking). | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
