And as far as the rosters are concerned- I think they tried to keep Raw more casual fan oriented (big guys and the nWo) while Smackdown! will be more internet/pure wrestling fan oriented. Raw may look weak to us, but it probably looks pretty damn good to the folks flipping channels who like the big heavyweights and mark out for guys like Show, Kane, Taker, Nash.
I think if they wanted to keep Raw more casual fan oriented, they would have put the Rock and Hogan on Raw.
Hogan, yes. But Rock I think they would want on the UPN show. And they had to split up Rock and Austin, and both are appealing to casual fans.

Then I think it would have made more sense to make Smackdown the more casual fan oriented show. More households get UPN than TNN (I think). And like him or not, Hulk Hogan is the MOST recognizable pro wrestler anywhere. He should be on the show that's aimed at casual viewers, not the good wrestling/internet fans show. I'm hoping that's still what they're gonna do, by somehow getting Angle, Benoit and maybe Jericho on Raw; and the Undertaker and the NWO on Smackdown.
