Some things intrigued me and I was wondering if anybody could answer these questions for me. What is the RCMP responsible for? Are they a nation wide organization, like the FBI in the USA? Whats this stuff about the Queen being the head of state?
Sorry if it sounds ignorant, but I never really paid that much attention if anybody was explaining it before. | Promote this thread! | | Merc

"The RCMP is unique in the world since it is a national, federal, provincial and municipal policing body. We provide a total federal policing service to all Canadians and policing services under contract to the three territories, eight provinces (except Ontario and Quebec), approximately 198 municipalities and, under 172 individual agreements, to 192 First Nations communities"

The Canadians, like us Aussies, are a Constitutional Monarchy. The Queen is Head of State, represented by a Governor General, but largely a ceremonial/figurehead role (at least in Australia it is)

Word. The RCMP are, more or less, cops for areas that don't have their own cops. CSIS is basically our FBI/CIA. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
