They've tested him for HIV and for cancer both come up negative. Now they are testing for a lethal parasite of all things. I guess it's possible and all, but it seems more possible to me that he may have been getting to much of a good thing and is now going through some kind of serious withdrawls. Then again I have zero degrees hanging on my wall. Whatever it is it's an awful strange case to suddenly hit what seemed to be a very healthy, productive young man in the prime of his career.

Considering Giambi is alleged to have received human growth hormones from BALCO that no one knew how they would impact the human body, perhaps Giambi is the guinea pig demonstrating how this variant of HGH impacts a person's system.

I did think about that. But I would guess that any affects would probably be more long term. But again, I don't have an MD.

Giambi has been declining since he left Oakland, which could be a sign of some sort of developing illness; then again, maybe not.

Scary that they're testing him for all these things; hope he's all right.

I hope he's going to be okay. He's always struck me as being the most down-to-earth, jocular and human of the Yankees. He seems like a really good guy. What's he doing on that team?

Giambi on Wakefield's knuckleball:

"You might as well show up to the ballpark drunk, because it's not going to be any harder to hit."

"I never want to see that fucking thing again."

Why do I get the feeling that the next time he is in the clubhouse something is gonna jump out of his chest?

(At least I hope it'll jump out his chest.)
