| #1 Posted on 24.7.04 1940.41 Reposted on: 24.7.11 1943.17 | Well, this week provided another solid in-ring show. (Except for the long brawling sequence of the Sharkboy vs. Jarrett match.)
I can honestly say that I like the Abyss/Goldylocks/Shelly angle. It's like they're sticking it to the WW (re: the Kane/Lita/Mattitude triangle). So far, this is the right way to go. I can only wait in anticipation as to the outcome of the Sharkboy/DRay-3000 vs. Abyss/Shelly match.
The Sabu/Raven angle isn't too familiar to me (not watching the PPVs), but from the announcers, I understand that Sabu's fighting back was a big deal. Dang fast-acting security! | Promote this thread! | | BigSteve

The difference was that most of the matches (Jarrett match, Monty Brown match, AJ Styles match and especially Raven's match) were all squashes rather than competitive matches like in previous weeks. | Juggalo101

It depends a lot on who's selling it and how, like the Spear (and I'm not a big fan of either move). If he's lucky, the victim will be like Chris Vaughn, who got folded in half sideways taking it. In TNA's Main Event scene, though, that's pretty clearly not going to happen.
I missed the show this week, although I wanted to see Jerelle Clark, who, it's reported, signed a TNA contract. Isn't he the guy who does the 630 splash? I don't guess he did it this week, though.

I don't know what internet you're on. I think he's just awesome because his promos don't make any sense and he's always screaming.

Yeah that's him. Couldn't tell how good he was against Styles but Styles didn't flat-out squash him, which was nice of him. I've heard good things from the Florida fans but they seem to like anybody from Florida so we'll see. | sonicslapshot

It makes me miss the days of Buckhouse Buck, Kurasawa and LazerTron. TNA needs better storylines. And no, Monty Brown is not the future. He's Mr.Hughes with the Bezerker's mic skills. This is my first post here, been reading posts a long time though. | It's False

The backstory is that Raven and Sabu were both trained by the Sheik. Raven wants to take his place as the best wrestler trained by the Sheik and calls Sabu a disgrace. While over the past couple of months, Raven has tried his damndest to provoke Sabu into a fight (including a MONSTROUS beatdown of Sonjay Dutt), Sabu absolutely wouldn't bite (likely because that's not how the Sheik would want it). Last Wednesday, after a brief absence, Raven made his triumphant return and dropped an elbow on Sabu from the balcony through a table and later on, proceeded to cut a promo telling Sabu it was time to fight him. And after months of pacifism, Sabu finally took the fight to Raven.
This has actually been a VERY good storyline and I continue to be amazed by the fact that, even if only for a couple of months, TNA has actually managed to make Sabu interesting again! They deserve a pat on the back for that one. | Mayhem

| #9 Posted on 27.7.04 1549.09 Reposted on: 27.7.11 1549.22 | I think Monty Brown will wear the TNA title one day. It seems that they're grooming him to be one of their major players. I personally think the guy is entertaining, especially now in his "tweener" role. Sure his ring skills need work, but I'd take him over Heidenreich any day of the week. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
