Where do u see Chris Benoit fitting in wqhen he gets back. Give a scernero you'd like to see . Feuds, angles, matches, programs, whatever.

id personally love to see him go after austin, than a program with Hogan then feud with jericho, hhh, and angle in the title hunt. Motive for going for hogan: all the years he floundered in wcw due tohim and his cronies.

I'd keep Benoit as far away form Hogan as possible. Although I'd love to match him up with Nash, just to see if Nash has one good match left in him.

In all seriousness, they need to bring back the "Crippler" persona. Have him run in on a Hogan match, DESTROY Hogan and cap off the beatdown with an IWGP-style Spider Suplex (German Suplex off the top rope). THen have Paul E run in with Brock and after a 15 second staredown, they shake hands and part 2 of the "Dangerous Alliance" is complete!

I agree with the Crippler persona, but I can't really see Hogan taking the Spider suplex...I can't really see many stars taking it. Maybe RVD. But I've always felt Benoit works better as a face, unless he's tagging with Malenko. I'd say just have him beat the shit out of Jericho, because I never get tired of watching them wrestle.

Face? I don't know, his status as a face or heel always seems to depend more on who he's fighting, not his own personality. Really, how much does his attitude actually change when he's a face or heel. When he's a heel, he seems a bit more focused on kicking ass, but when he's a face, he seems tougher and more able to take punishment. But besides that, no real change. But I'll definitely agree about Hogan. He's way too chickenshit to take a decent bump.

Liger is... SUPER DEFORMED! A Japanese style of drawing, they think it's kawaii (cute). I dig it myself, though I'd never call Lyger "cute"!

I can see your point there, regarding his heel/face personae. The main thing with the heel persona were the snot rockets (or Okie blows, TM CRZ) and the sinister, toothless grin. I suppose it's just easier to get face heat on workrate alone than it is heel heat. They're not going to boo you for good wrestling. Well, unless you're facing Hulk Hogan *cough* *sputter*

Im seeing Benoit feuding with Booker T when he comes back. In interviews Ive seen they are constantly the mentioning the other other as one of their favorite opponents. I didnt watch WCW, but from what I understand, Bookers fued with Benoit is what established him as a main eventer. So I think with Benoit coming back a fued with Booker could give them both a good rub. Im curious to whether they would make Chris Benoit a heel or a face when he returns.

that grin RULED! i loved it when he would waffle someone with the IC belt, look at them lying there, then decide that was pretty cool and smile.

right off the bat, i'd have him in OVW for a month to get his timing back.

it would be great if they capitalized on him never being beaten for the wcw championship. give him a tv main event where he challenges for the title and loses, then set about building him back up.

angle would be a good feud because i think their raw cage match was the last time he appeared in the wwf. or thereabouts. he could say angle injured him, yada yada yada. the matches would rule at least. =)

jericho's a good candidate too. there's room enough in their history for a good angle. having him feud with the former champ could elevate him as well.

he must, must, MUST feud with BOOKER DAMN T. at some point. it looks like their going with edge / angle and booker / benoit could help both of them.

kane's out there too. he can put on a good match and it could be a great match with benoit.

i would love to see benoit / rvd, too.

edit: i thought it was pretty fucking cool of booker to use benoit when he played the xbox game at wrestlemania.

A program with Edge, Angle and Booker T will be a good start. (Flair will most likely pick all of them). Then someone insults them for being has-beens. They then join forces and become the new Four Horsemen.

Whoa now. While that feud is what established Booker as a net darling (and I suppose Benoit somewhat also, although he was already a net darling) they were both pretty damn far down the card back then, and both stayed pretty far down the card for the next few years. That feud wasn't even over the TV title, it was over a TV title shot. Can you imagine even Funaki and Crash Holly feuding over a European Title shot today?

All true, BUT the Booker/Benoit feud did rock on so many levels. The only thing that killed it was Fit Finlay's annoying entry into it towards the end. I'd have had Finlay fight BOTH guys in a 3-way halfway through the feud, dropping the belt to one of the two. That way the feud would have been pushed up the card and would have been more dramatic.

Go watch a Fit Finlay-Benoit match. THAT's good wrasslin'.

Fit: "Alright Chris, I think we'll start off with me punching you right in the fucking face"
Chris: "Sounds good, then I can give you an unprotected headbutt like the one I gave Regal last week on Saturday Night..."

This is just the arm chair booker in me, but Benoit should be chosen as the #1 pick by Flair (Given Hall and Nash stay on that side). This enrages people who are working hard to keep their spot, but some guy who was a Horseman gets special treatment. This makes some type of build up for when he gets back, and his first opponents can be the "Ones who drove him from WCW" in Hall and Nash (wouldn't be the last time WWF changed history). This is also two guys who are slow enough so that Benoit doesn't have to get too physical just yet, and if X-Pac tags along with Hall and Nash, Benoit can throw him around. This can build with Benoit "Prooving His Worth" by taking on the nWo and the other wrestlers refuse to help because they feel he got special treatment. This can lead to maybe and Edge or RVD siding with Benoit to take down the nWo and thus elevate Edge and RVD up with Benoit. This is with the thought that Nash and Hall won't bitch and moan about having to do the job.

I think it's more a case of who do I want Benoit to stay away from....UT, Hogan, Nash, Rock, and probably HHH.

I doubt it'll happen, but I'd like to see Benoit playing the Blackman role in a "Head Cheese" type combination.

Just bring him back as heel. I never liked seeing him as a face, there's just something that doesn't work for me. You see him written "heel 4 life" on the forehead - just like Triple H - and they gotta build him up like this! My favorite has always been him running around and claiming to be "the best damn technical wrestler in the history of the WWF", and the way he was looking with his diabolic smile made his opponent tremble in fear already before he even entered the ring. At that time I even thought it's impossible to turn him, because he was so convincing:) Not that he wasn't good as a face in WWF (I rarely watched WCW, so I can't judge him), his feud with Kurt Angle was the best thing during last spring, a time where nearly everything failed what the WWF gave us, I loved to see the brilliant wrestling they gave us, but I miss him as a killer, as a destroyer, as the Crippler!

I personally prefer Benoit as a face. People want to like him because he's just such a badass in the ring, and I think they relate to him because he's not freakishly large. I'd love to see Benoit be a surprise final pick....have Vince bust out some cool surprise at the end, and then taunt Flair about "what's your last pick going to be? Maybe you can bring back Esse Rios!" and then have Flair call out the Crippler.

I'm telling you, bring Chris back as a truly EVIL, stiff heel. Have him run in and just DESTROY Hogan, earning instant top-level heat. End the beatdown with that fucked-up looking throw that broke Sabu's neck! THe return of the Crippler would be a beautiful thing!

EDIT:
I forgot! Since the WWF is paying for copyrights and playing songs by non-WWF musicians, shell out the bucks for "High Speed Dirt" by Megadeth for his theme. For some reason, I always thought that would be a good entrance song for him. That or "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent!

his theme on the new cd is pretty good.

the booker / benoit best of seven was the shining example of how fucked up wcw was. there just isn't even a corollary in the wwf. the tv title was supposed to be defended on every show - so at least four or five guys got shots before benoit and book.

remember the time benoit won the tv title and it wasn't even on tv? heh.
