This makes me so happy. The fact that one of the originators of the zombie genre and the starter of many horror trends could not get funding for a new Dead movie made me sick. I just hope that he gets all the money that he needs and that the movie is more like the first two (Night and Dawn) than the last one (Day). Either way, I'll see it six times or so. It's time that somebody returned and showed people how zombies are supposed to act.
I feel exactly the same way you do. I have been stuck watching shit that Paul Anderson spits out for too long. I have read the script for "Dead Reckoning" (which was the name of the movie in the first place) and it will be totally sweet.
However, you shouldn't criticize the Day movie too much. It is a scaled down version of the true movie, if you ever get a chance to find the true script on the 'net, it would have been a great movie.
If you rent the newest DVD (the DigiMax) and listen to the commentary, Romero expresses some anger about this. The idea was that the group of people raise a "zombie army" to combat the regular zombies. He also had this huge compound set up and "Bub" was supposed to be one of the leader "good zombies". However, the company that was financing them stated that they only had x-amount of dollars and told Romero to cut the script down.
Romero also has another movie called "Diamond Dead" ready to go too. | JustinShapiro
