| #1 Posted on 23.3.02 0042.06 Reposted on: 23.3.09 0047.10 | Someone mentioned it in another thread, and it got me thinking. Ever since Paul got hired, THIS is the stable I've wanted to see resurrected. Not the Horseman, not the NWO, not D-X, but the Dangerous Alliance. And now is the perfect time. Again, Paul has been unjustly fired (in his mind) for his behavior. And, again, he's showed up with a devestating newcomer (last time Rick Rude, now Brock Lesnar) to destroy those who crossed him. While technically that could be Vince, he could blame Flair, since Flair returned the same night he left. He could say it's no coincidence and declare war on Flair and all of his favored (the babyfaces). If Austin's in the Flair pool, you could have interesting tension playing the two off the other. Admittedly, most people wouldn't remember Austin was in the Alliance, or even that the Alliance existed, but it could still be fresh and a little tweak of the nose to smart fans out there.
But who would be members? Glad you asked...okay, I hadn't really figured too much out, but I'll give it a shot:
1) Brock Lesnar - Point man, young up and comer, killing machine.
2) Lance Storm - Needs something to do, great wrestler, could also benefit from a mouthpiece like Paul.
3) Christian - Cocky, sneaky and could be a good way to draw him away from his feud with DDP and his current "whiney, crybaby" gimmick.
4) Big Show - Also nothing else to do, he makes good bodyguard material and can play heel as well as he can face. Hell, if you want to keep Christian cowardly, hiding behind a seven foot tag partner wouldn't be a bad way to do it (shades of Yoko/Owen)
5) Gotta have a team jobber. Lots of guys could fill this role: Perry Saturn (sorry, Wyn), Steven Richards, Raven (yes, one of my favorites, but at least he'd be on TV!), hell, even Maven or Al Snow or Chavo for gratuitous Tough Enough hyping.
Anyway, that's totally off the top of my head. Anybody else have any thoughts?

Benoit as a leader, however, would be beautiful. Heyman can more than make up for Benoit's (perceived) lack of mic skills, and, while being smaller, he can out bad-ass Lesnar in pure attitude anyday. Since he's set to return soon anyway, why the hell not?
Admittedly, I don't expect the WWF to even really do anything like this, but I sure like to think they might. :) | WTF13

I guess any stable Heyman ran would be considered The Dangerous Alliance. It wouldn't be like resurrecting the Horsemen or DX, because the only real unifying thing about the Dangerous Alliance was Heyman. | Pheadfred

Imagine if Paul E. did this with all of the newcomers... not only would they instantly get over (especially if Vince would let them DESTROY everything in their path) but you'd have a great set of stars-in-waiting for the next generation. Plus, you could have Flair reform the Horsemen to fight them off and then you'd have THE DEFINING FEUD for Raw.

That would be worth the price of admission.
In my perfect world, Lesnar would fight a mystery opponent on the next PPV and out would come one of the OVW guys managed by Cornette.
Nothing better than James E. vs. Heyman.

| #11 Posted on 23.3.02 1723.02 Reposted on: 23.3.09 1729.01 | I'd love to see a return of the Dangerous Alliance... but I don't want to see some watered down version of two bit jobbers thrown together in the hopes that they'll mesh and become something more. Sometimes, that works (The New Age Outlaws, for example)... usually it doesn't (cough*PaulRomaandMongoMcMichaelasHorsemen?*cough). And it's important to decide who you'd put where... ie, if you're going to have the Horsemen ultimately feud with the Dangerous Alliance, then you can have guys (Lance Storm or Chris Benoit, for example) slated to be a member of both. Anyways, this is who I'd like to see.
Paul Heyman, obviously, reprises his role as Paul E. Dangerously.
Ivory comes in as the Official Bitch, replacing Madusa.
Booker T serves as group Main Eventer, replacing Rick Rude.
Chris Kanyon as the the smart-ass mid carder with supreme technical skill, replacing Stunning Steve Austin.
Mr. Perfect as the crafty old veteran and tag team specialist... replacing Arn Anderson. If you're going to through Lesnar into this group, however, this is where I'd do it. The Tag Ranks keep him from being in an exposed position but still highlight his freakish strength.
And just to prove that the universe does indeed have a sense of humor, a returning Mike Awesome to serve as Team Jobber, replacing Larry Zybysco | rushmw

put o'haire in there too if he's ready. he's a fresh face who could make a splash like lesnar. make his first match against jeff hardy so people can have a "holy fucking shit" moment when he busts out his senton. (the audience would be subtley prepared for the move since hardy's there, but they won't expect it from o'haire.) | wannaberockstar

| #19 Posted on 24.3.02 1554.32 Reposted on: 24.3.09 1556.13 | Regarding the desire to resurrect every past stable instead of creating new ones...well, that's geekdom for ya. It's like talking about the line-up of your favorite superhero team. There's nothing so much fun as speculating an ideal line-up for the Avengers, the Justice League, the X-men...it's much the same with wrestling stables. Could all the possible stables ever actually function? No, of course not. But there's nothing wrong with throwing every idea that pops into your head out onto the net and seeing if anything sticks. Do I expect to see a Dangerous Alliance? A revamped JOB squad? A resurrected Ministry of Darkness (lead by Raven)? No, honestly. But I love to imagine it, and see what other people would like to see IF that scenario somehow became reality.
Plus, it's harder to predict just what totally new stables could come to be. The WWF, sadly, only uses foreshadowing of the hit you over the head with a sledgehammer variety for the most part. I'd love to see a discussion of what totally original stables people would like to see. In fact, I'll start a thread about it...right now :) | Saruman

Personally, I would like to see Lesnar and O'Haire team up as a monster tag team under Heyman. There's a gap in the tag ranks, and those two with Heyman doing the talking could get over huge based on their power/moveset. |
