Okay, maybe I've missed this has been covered in the past, but I've seen these top 40 lists for months now, and I'm curious. What are these based on, and how do you compile them?

It's based on my personal opinion based on current singles at rock radio. I compile 'em basically by creating a mp3 playlist and then ranking each song based on...well, again, my personal opinion. Yep.

It's interesting that you usually don't have a problem with Incubus, but their new song is rising the bottom group. Meanwhile, I think "Talk Shows On Mute" is one of the better songs I have heard from them.

So, am I wrong? Do you generally enjoy or loathe Incubus?

The only song I REALLY like from Incubus is Aqueous Transmissions, and that's only because its a nice song to mellow out/fall asleep to. My pothead friends listened to them way too much (2nd album I think) and it completely turned me off to their music.

I generally like Incubus, but is that the song that starts with the riff that is a 100% ripoff of a Nirvana song I'm too lazy to look up right this minute?

EDIT: Forgot to add "'cause that song bugs me."

NEW EDIT: Heard it on the radio this morning. That's not the song I'm thinking of. The one I'm thinking of is the first single.

Very interesting...seems we have direct opposite tastes, as
"45", "The Reason", "Spin You Around", "Step Up" and "Broken" are some of my current favorite songs.

10 v 13 Matthew Good "Alert Status Red" White Light Rock And Roll Review 6 8

Do yourselves a favor and grab "White Light Rock & Roll Review." Matt strips it down to the basics on this CD, and it's the best thing he's put out in years.

Hey, I saw him in concert here in Alberta 6 times last month (Grande Prairie, Edmonton (x2), Calgary (x2) and Banff)...the least you could do is buy the CD. :)
