I've heard through the non-sanctioned by the WWF grapevine that Flair's show will be "wrestling based" while Vince's show will be more Sports Entertainment.
Now, I'd love for this to happen, so I can ignore one show.
But, I don't think Vince will allow it because of the potential that the wrestling show will outperform the SE show, in terms of ratings and "critical acclaim."

They never clarified who would get the book for each show or if those teams would remain the same (I can't see how they could). There's a problem here- Flair's booking runs were always chaotic and ended abruptly. They really need to use Johnny Ace and Fit Finlay as bookers...maybe even bring in Sullivan. | TinMan

Again from a non sanctioned WWF source, lol, I read on 411 that the writing team was not going to be seperate for each show and that they would still be doing both shows. They said new writers may be added due to the extra work but the bookers we have will stay the same.

That doesn't necessarily mean more wrestling-based material on one with more sports entertainment-based material on the other, because both products should also remain similar so that the fans don't want to choose between the two. The goal of the WWF is to get us to watch both shows, pay for both PPVs, and go to both of their arena shows when they're able to do those things.
I think both will be sports entertainment-based, but wrestling looks like it'll be more emphasised in both as well since titles will have (a little) more value and they'll need to feature more talent that'll have to get over on ringwork at first.
Looking at the split rosters, one would assume that the roster with The Rock will be more sports entertainment-based by nature while the one with Austin will feature more wrestling with the occasional pickup truck thrown in.
At least we'll have Stephanie off TV for a week when it all begins, so maybe that'll end up being a plus.
EDIT: None of your business!

With only one set of writers (led by Gypsy Rose Stephanie), any hope of the wrestling-orientated show will be just that is only a pipe dream. | Travis

| #9 Posted on 25.3.02 0407.32 Reposted on: 25.3.09 0414.59 | I've said this before so I'll try not to draw it out but by Vince allowing straight wrestling back on TV it'd be like admitting his nigh on 20 year drive to make the product "sports entertainment" wasn't right, and somehow I can't see Vince admitting he was wrong about anything. I don't think it would happen, the failure of WCW (either version) will have convinced him there's just no room for rasslin' with todays fanbase, rather than poor writing being the culprit.
I'd love to see it though, take both wrestling and sports entertainment on the different shows to the extreme and see what happens. More than anything (and I'm not too fussed how they do it) I just want two different shows with their own identity, rather than two homogenous shows with a different cast. I want an alternative to what we have now. I'm actually really excited about the split concept and am looking forwards to the draft itself on Raw. This is an original idea and actually gives the chance for an insane amount of innovation and I can't wait to see it, especially after the recent staleness of the WWF. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
