| #1 Posted on 27.6.04 2200.33 Reposted on: 27.6.11 2200.48 | First Ottawa dealt Radek Bonk to LA who flipped him to Montreal with Huet for Mathieu Garon.
Now they've traded Public Enemy #1 in Ottawa, Patrick Lalime to the St. Louis Blues for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2005.
Ottawa will get Dominik Hasek now with an incentive laced contract.
I think Lalime will do well in St. Louis because he IS a good goalie and he is a #1 goalie in the NHL but there was way too much pressure on him in Ottawa.
Also, Mathieu Garon will get a shot at being a #1 goalie in LA and I think he can do it. Add that to Martin Gerber going for Anaheim to Carolina and getting the #1 job there and you've got a bunch of new looks in goal already.
Whenever the next season is, Ottawa is going for it all with Hasek and it should be interesting to say the least.

Who is Ottawa's backup goaltender? He could (will?) end up playing in over half Ottawa's games. | Mr. Heat Miser

First things first, Maple Leafs need to sign him. Seems like Belfour wants a 3-year deal guaranteed even if there is a lockout... The Calgary Sun has written that is a possibility of Paul Kariya signing with the Leafs once free agents are allowed to start talking to teams in a days time, for whatever that's worth
As for Lalime, I think a change of scenery will do him a world of good... Hasek going to Ottawa, he just seems way too much of a flake these days, can he rebound after some unproductive years. aah I really don't know | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
