| #3 Posted on 27.6.04 1915.16 Reposted on: 27.6.11 1915.47 | Fahrenheit 9/11 is only being shown in one theatre in my city, and that's in Canada (aka Bush-hater Central). In contrast, crap like White Chicks being shown in pretty much all five of them. So it's clear that it is less likely a movie to be shown in theaters, though that's more because of the fact that it's an "artsy" documentary (it's not really artsy at all, but that's the stereotype) rather than its political bent...well, at least I'd like to think so.
I'm glad the movie is #1 at the box office, just for symbolic purposes. Will it have a long run? Likely not, since it's not really the kind of movie that demands multiple viewings, and also because Spider-Man 2 is out on Wednesday. Even still, it's already paid for itself and for its marketing campaign, so more power to Moore. | Joseph Ryder

There's also that other tiny difference that one's "opinion" promotes racism, sexism, xenophobia, and homophobia. I don't think the other's "opinion" is as culturally damaging, but he does have an obvious eating disorder, so what do I know. | brick

see the article titled "Conservative Group Claims Victory over 'Fahrenheit 9/11'"
I think he had a point about people not wanting this film seen. But in the end all they did was give it free pub. (See Catholics vs. Last Temptation of Christ) | Dahak

That is a fair comparison. More accurately Moore is the liberal equivalant of Rush Limbaugh. Shut up and agree with me or you are an evil person. I guess the name Micheal is why I used a bad comparison. | OlFuzzyBastard

White Chicks also did do something else useful...It's the ultimate pick me up. Any time you're feeling down you can just say, "Man, I killed a dog...but at least I didn't make White Chicks." or "I may have terminal cancer, but at least I'll die before White Chicks comes out on DVD." | Grimis

| #11 Posted on 28.6.04 0613.23 Reposted on: 28.6.11 0613.23 | I would say that Savage is more apporporiate. Both Moore and Savage make stuff up as they go along, pass it off as the gospel, and sell it to the true believers. It just so happens that Hollywood and the liberal establishment lionizes Moore for being a liar and saying thing that, if a Republican had said them about Clinton, would've seen Hollywood try to run them out of town on a rail.
Moore has made his money, which once again makes him happy for being what he professes to hate. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
