As dskillz pointed out, The Outsiders worked in "son of a bitch!" twice before Rock stepped in to respond. Perhaps the Rock wasn't indicating that Nash was a bitch so much as making note of Big Daddy Cool's sudden predilection for the term.

And if not, does Austin have to get it specially cleared every time he calls someone a "son of a bitch"? If so, no wonder the guy needed to take a week off.

Man, I wonder what Juventud will say if he ever meets up with the Rock, assuming Rock didn't call up WCW to clear up those insults with him. Probably just "I'm still real and I'm still The Juice," I guess.

Actually, no. Nash called Hogan a son-of-a-bitch, which is nowhere near the same thing.

Let's face it, a man calling another a man a "bitch" implies that he takes it in the butt, does it not? Well, hate to break it you, but that's a no-no.

It's like in baseball. A manager arguing with an umpire will be allowed to say almost anything, but as soon as he calls the ump a "c***sucker", he's gone.

Rock was out of line, and to make it worse the remark didn't get much of a pop. (Maybe the crowd also thought the remark out of line?)

The irony is that it's Nash doing the complaining.

WHAT?! I seriously doubt that's the implication EVERY time someone calls someone else a bitch (I know that's not what I mean most of the time). In the claim, "I'm going to make you my bitch tonight," maybe... but in the admonition, "stop being such a bitch," I think the implied meaning is more along the lines of, "stop whining." (also- calling someone a "son-of-a-bitch" is insulting to that person's mother. THAT'S worse, I believe, in most people's eyes)

There is no doubt that Kevin Nash whines, so the Rock's comment was warranted. However, I don't take much stock in the Torch's rumors (I haven't been to their site in almost a year). If this one IS true, though, Vince and Shane should play Nash a recording of his complaint, confirm that he is Big Daddy Bitch and send him out of the room.

Um, didn't the WWF include the Big daddy B*bleep*ch line make it into the recap segment at the beginning of the show? If it really were that big of a deal, I don't think they'd have made a point to include it there.

Of course, I may very well be mis-remembering ast night's show....

I honestly cannot believe that people are actually sticking up for Kevin Nash. Un-fucking-believable. For NASH? A year ago most of us wouldnt have pissed on him to save his life and now some of us are circling the wagons cause he got called a "bitch." "He has beef" my ass. If the story is true Nash needs to suck it up.

The net crowd never ceases to amaze me.....

To everyone actually defending Nash right now despite the myriad ways he's fucked over other pros as he lumbered his tall, hefty ass to the top: Bitch PUH-LEEZ!

THere's no polite way to say it. This is insanity! Remember we are talking about Kevin F'n NASH here. I can think of many more choice names to call the boy on national tv. He got lucky, I mean, the Rock called Shane McMahon a "Silver-Spoon Mother Fucker" on Smackdown once! Nash gets off with Big Daddy Bitch, which will hopefully become a new t-shirt!

I know for the most part the net crowd hates the Rock (why? because he's not blonde or Texan, yet is still the biggest name in the business right now? - even though he's just warming the seat until D-Lo Brown comes in and takes the reins as THE MAN!!) But take off the blinders and look at the whole situation before flying off the damn handle. This is getting pathetic.

Yeah, the net crowd sucks, alright. Nash sucks! Boo! He complained about someone breaking the rules! What a little shit! How dare he! Meanwhile Austin sits at home sulking, but we won't say anything about THAT because we LIKE him!

Fucking clueless.

I'm sorry, but there's a buttload more evidence for supposed indiscretions backstage on the part of the old WWF main-eventers, and they don't get shit said against them on this board or anywhere else. But as soon as Nash makes a complaint, then boy, let's go ahead and crucify him.

Can you imagine if Nash, Hall or Hogan called Rocky "Flex" or made fun of the "Third Generation Rookie Sensation" period? Can you really see Rock sitting on his hands and thinking "Boy, that sure was funny for them to rip it outta me like that!" Of course not. He'd be all over it. But I'm sure many would shrug and say "nya ha, you can't prove it so I don't have to believe it". You wanna throw things like this in people's faces and bitch about backstage politicking? At least be consistent about the rules you follow.

And to support the point made earlier, calling someone a "bitch" is a Hell of a lot different to "son of a bitch".

It's called payback, Karma, and a shitload of other names, but the concept is simple. Nash has a lot to atone for before he earns the right to complain about jack shit.

I don't think the crowd had a wild reaction to Nash being called a bitch BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT ROCKY DOES. He calls out people, verbally emasculates them. Its his thing. When I saw that I didn't think, " Wow, that bitch statement was totally out of line. Nash should be kicking his ass right now, and because he's not, his character is worthless." I thought, there goes Rock.

P.S. How does "Billy Bitchcakes" fit into this?

Do you really think Rock went "out of script" to call McMahon a silver spooned mo-fo? I doubt it. The issue some people have with it is that it seemed out of script. And using one insult does not excuse another--maybe Rock should not have used either!

Alas, in the end, who gives damn? This is wrestlers calling eachother names, not suicide bombers in the Middle East. I'm sure Nash is over it if he was insulted.

I'm a Nash fan. And no offense but how do you guys even know he's complaining? The article came from the torch. Anything anywhere else about him complaining? I dont recall seeing anything. So i just love how everyone starts flaming him before they even know if the rumor is even close to true.

I know what you mean ... I can't believe I'm doing it either! It's like being caught between a Rock and a ... oh, never mind.

But it's not so much that I'm sticking up for Nash as that I think ANY wrestler in that situation would have a ligitimate gripe.

bottom line: Rock's ego ruined the segment, and the "bitch" shot was, by boys-in-the-back standards, a low blow.

And like I said, the irony is that it's Nash doing the complaining.

"Low blow"? Perhaps, but look who's taking it! That's all I'm saying. The Rock scored one on Nash, and I loved it. As far as I'm concerned, he should score one on EVERY top card guy at least once just like that! Imagine the exchange between Rock and Stone Cold!

SC: What?!
Rock: [whiny voice] what?
SC: What?!
ROck: [whiny voice] what?

Keep it going for about 5 minutes, Heck, it'll beat a Stephanie segment any day of the week!

Rock's ego didn't ruin the segment. Crappy writing ruined it. Rock's scoring on Nash damn near saved it as far as I'm concerned.

Final note: What's with theis love fest bs between Rock & Hogan?! Verbally bitch-slap his old ass and get on with the character burial!

I think HHH lost some heat when in a locker room segment Rock told him he needed to smile more and made funny faces at him while all HHH did was take it without responding. I also think that perhaps beyond that point is where fans started booing Rock a little and those boos seem to slowly be getting louder. The HHH promo could very well be the "point of no return" for the inevitable heel turn.

Put in a program vs any face and the fans will boo the Rock now. I think even against some heels like Nash or Undertaker the Rock is gonna get booed now. His face run is -over-. Movie or no movie, its time for his turn. It should've been a double turn at WMX8.

Rock is ultimately gonna force the bookers to turn him heel.

Que? You're saying a throwaway comment in a pointless segment cost HHH heat and turned the fans against the Rock (presumably for costing HHH that heat)? I reiterate: Que?

As to the discussion at hand: If true, this incident is one of two things:

1. A ploy by Nash to test how much he can get away with.

2. A simple misunderstanding for a guy who's still not used to working with the WWF guys.

"Big Daddy Bitch" is exactly the sort of thing the Rock says all the time. And standing on the entrance ramp/ring apron and making angry faces without actually doing anything is the sort of thing the Rock's opponents do in response all the time. Maybe Edge has to go get a note from his mother when he wants to cut an extended promo ripping Billy Gunn or X-Pac to shreds, but I doubt the Rock (or anyone else for that matter) needs some sort of pre-approved clearance to call their opponents a bad name. Nash either doesn't yet understand this or is playing games.

Someone noted that they thought "Rock's going off again" at the Big Daddy Bitch comment, and nothing more. I, for one, was surprised that the comment did not elicit much more of a response then it did. Nash and Hall seemed awfully surprised by it, and the adlib of Hall holding back Nash wasn't convincing. To make matters worse, the segment absolutely lost steam afterwards.

Many of you are saying that it's all right for Rocky to have called Nash a bitch because "that's what Rock does." If that's the case, then maybe it's not Nash that has to do the checking of the ego at the door. If Rock's "gimmick", his "thing" as you guys have called it, is make others look bad to Rock's benefit, then who is in the wrong?

I'm going to come in here with support for Nash, if this did occur.. not out of any love for Nash, though I don't hate him the way anyone else does. And not because my Mom is watching the WWF again only because Nash is there. (she's had a thing for him since Diesel)

But I'm going to support Nash because I'm sick and tired of Rock taking any 'serious' promo he's near and turning it into 'Sing Along with the Great One' silliness. The promo was intense, Hogan was playing up looking angry, Hall and Nash were into it.. and suddenly Rock comes in, whips out his dick and starts masturbating. Well.. not exactly, but the effect would be the same.

The only time this hasn't held true in about two years was when Rock was in the program with Chris Jericho, and that only occured about a month into the program when Jericho finally seemed to _force_ the Rock to develop personality past knocking other wrestlers.

Rocky really needs to either turn Heel, or find a new Face role, because as it is, his current role does suck alot of heat from anything he gets near.. and it doesn't seem to really add to his heat at all, he's just as over without 'Billy Bitchcakes' or 'Chico' or 'Big Daddy Bitch' or '', which leads me to think that he's just _another_ case of the WWF writers being not quite sure what to do. Damnit.

And I'm Wiener of the Day, so I'm right today! BWAHAHAHA!

The fact is that the line was entertaining. Nash did NOT rush the ring and attack, and I seriously doubt that it was as big an issue as the websites made it out to be.

Probably, after a night to consider the possible ramifications of suddenly making "Big Daddy...anything" merchandise unsellable, Nash went to Vince and asked for the chance to get some of his heat back, which he did. My dad, who is only a casual viewer, was going on about how "Rock and Hogan got their asses kicked".

I didn't see any "Big Daddy Bitch" signs at Smackdown, which I found disappointing. But they did replay the bit, albiet bleeped.

Hell, they might even be working the websites with the story. It's pretty funny if they are.

As for whether or not it's going to affect the NWO storyline, it's working for me to have them built up as "poison", but finding that it's not as easy to destroy the WWF as it was to kill off WCW. Sure, it may also be an ego boost for McMahon, but if they just came in as monsters and destroyed everyone, I'd be bored by them. A vulnerable threat with a huge nasty reputation preceding them presents more room for character development.

As it is, they came in, Hogan "went into business for himself" (great line, by the way) and they weren't able to get the job done--so they brought in X Pac, and are going to have to rethink their tactics. That's a hell of a lot more interesting to watch than three old guys beating up younger, stronger athletes. I was getting a bit sick of wondering why the APA wasn't running out from the back and mopping the floor up with those guys. Now they'll have to be sneakier (maybe put a chair up against the outside of the APA office door so they can't get out--I like comedy bits).

In fact, that may have been the plan all along. Look at who they let them destroy--Spike---and they didn't do as bad a job on him as Brock Lesnar did. But then again, you can get attacked if you dare to suggest that the WWF might have some long-range plans in place these days.

They do need to have the NWO destroy somebody else soon, maybe a couple of folks, and then they can be shown talking to Heyman, which could lead to all sorts of possiblities--especially if Lesnar doesn't hook up with the NWO.

But the line got a big laugh out of me. I'm not a Nash fan--He's already way exceeded my expectations with his return--I can see why he'd get pissed IF it was really an ad-lib. The guy could take a real hit on his merchandising if his "catchphrase" gets gutted, but I don't think it's that big a deal. I don't think he's going to sell that many T shirts anyway.

If you go with the more explicit unsubstantiated story, then Nash had it coming. The possibly-fantasy reporting line is that Nash had told folks back in WCW that he wanted to go to the WWF so he could call Rock a bitch. This imaginative version of the story has the whole thing being an elaborate rib, concocted to put Nash in his place backstage. Hard to tell how much of that is BS, since it's just a little too detailed to seem real, but if there's truth in it, that makes it slightly more funny.

Your argument proves my point. If I am in a heated argument with someone, I am going to call the person a bitch. That is what Rocky did. Challenged Nash's manhood to get a match. I think it is more a case of Rock hating going on here.
