| #1 Posted on 21.6.04 1921.07 Reposted on: 21.6.11 1929.01 | The third season of Justice League is set to kick off over the course of the next few months. This time, it will be known as "Justice League Unlimited" and it will focus more on team-ups between curreny league members and members of the rest of the DC universe. Should be interesting to see how this shapes up, as Bruce Timm and Paul Dini have done SO well with pretty much any DC hero tossed their way. Now they have plenty more to work with. Among the characters to look forward to...
THE HEROES
The Elongated Man- Plastic Man he is not. The Elongated Man is more of a stretchy hero in the tradition of Marvel's Reed Richards. Bestselling author Brad Meltzer (no relation to Da Meltz, I'm sure) equates him to Batman in terms of detective skills, so a teamup would be fun to see.
Hawk and Dove- This is a case where the excitement isn't in the heroes, but in the voice casting. Hawk and Dove are tentatively planned to be voiced by Fred Savage and Jason Hervey. WONDER YEARS REUNION!
Green Arrow- A majorly unsung hero of the DC universe, Green Arrow will be a part of a squad that includes Green Lantern and Supergirl to take on a villain we'll touch upon later. This episode should be a lot of fun, as it will reintroduce Supergirl, debut a new look Green Lantern, and debut Green Arrow.
The Question- Now THIS is exciting! The Question is the faceless (literally) superhero who employs the philosophy of Objectivism into his crime-fighting, leading him into almost anti-hero territory. With Jeffrey Combs voicing him, every ingredient is there for a potentially amazing episode.
THE VILLAINS
Brimstone- A Darkseid villain that will be pitted against the coalition of Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Supergirl, and Captain Atom. The story will undoubtedly be focused on GL leading a ragtag group of heroes, but I'm curious to see exactly how Timm and Dini bring Brimstone to life.
Ares, God of War- One of Wonder Woman's archnemeses, Ares has the potential to create two episodes worth of wholesome chaos, unlike Hades' seemingly throwaway appearance in the first season. The fun will be who (besides the obvious Wonder Woman) will oppose him. Possibly the aforementioned Hawk and Dove?
AMAZO- Said to be the blowaway show of the season will be the one featuring AMAZO's return. With limitless heroes' powers to feed off of, AMAZO has the potential to reach freakishly high power levels. I'm looking forward to AMAZO's return episode, especially since this time he won't be the pawn of Lex Luthor. This time around, he'll have a mind of his own.
The Secret Society- Season two's Secret Society episode was among the best of the series's tenure so far. With an expanded heroes gallery comes an extended ROGUES gallery, meaning Grodd would have limitless possibilities for a new Secret Society. Whether Timm and Dini will use this for Season three or four or even at all, remains to be seen, but it would be a neat concept.
That's a taste of the third season and that's barely scratching the surface. What else could Season 3 have in store and what possible storylines could surface?

In fact, he only wrote one episode of the Justice League series. I think that's what the series lacked as a whole was Dini's storytelling presence. | odessasteps

As much fun as an Elongated Man/Batman teamup would be, a Plastic Man/Flash teamup could be loads of fun. I'd seriously buy into that for a two-parter.
And oops on the whole Paul Dini thing.

For this show to draw any ratings at all, the writers will have to make the established Justice Leaguers to carry these newbies (see Flair, Ric, and broomstick.) | odessasteps
