| #1 Posted on 18.6.04 1544.32 Reposted on: 18.6.11 1545.14 | I know this has been previewed elsewhere, but I just got to taste it today and it tasted pretty much like flat cola to me. I mean flat, like, someone left the cap off the bottle for, oh... 5 months. Personally, I'd rather drink Diet Coke than this swill. Any ringing endorsements out there?
More importantly, has anyone tried the Pepsi Edge stuff yet? Any better/worse than C2? Promote this thread! | | Perrinthewolf

If you don't that's what Diet Coke is for. Half the carbs still means you're getting carbs in your system if that's what the Atkinites are nervous about. | Mayhem

And... eh. I wasn't disgusted, but I wasn't overwhelmed, either.
The “tastes like flat Coke” review is pretty close to the truth. But when I first sipped it, it tasted like warm Coke mixed with melted vanilla ice cream (which I actually have had, by the way... LOL).
Maybe they should call the product Coca-Cola CO2, because after taking a few sips of it, I experienced several tremendous burps.
I'd rate it above Diet Coke, which tastes ridiculously artificial, and I'd rate it waaay above Caffeine Free and Diet Caffeine Free. Diet Caffeine Free Coke is just slightly better than I imagine raw sewage tasting. Not that I've ever felt the need to try that.
I'd rate it considerably lower than both Coke and Pepsi, though. So... I'd recommend it to people who don't like the sugar and calories in Coke. But under no circumstances would I recommend a Coke-drinker drink C2 instead.

| #8 Posted on 18.6.04 2206.26 Reposted on: 18.6.11 2210.16 | We've had Pepsi Edge for about a month here. Our Mejier was/is running a promotion so I picked up a six-pack for a buck plus deposit. My opinion of it can best be summarized by noting that about 5.5 of the cans either went down our sink or were given to someone else so that it could go down their sink. I'm assuming that Edge is meant to be an acronym for Excruciatingly Disgusting Grotesque Elixir.

Aesthetics over substance, Mayhem. A person would rather look good than be healthy, and a soda company would rather put a pretty label on swill to fulfill a diet plan (read; fad) than create a quality beverage.
