Let me jump on the Wings band wagon. It did start to drain when NBC kept moving it around, but it was still not the worst and at times was better than Cheers. That is saying a lot, because I thought the last three years of Cheers was the greatest comedy on television. My vote has to go to Full House. My family would watch sitcoms all the time including ABC's family friday. After two seasons of that, I realized most sitcoms suck.

I love Sienfield, yeah I can't spell it either. Sienfield was just crazy and I loved it. I liked Friends for the first two seasons, but it got to Soap Opera for me. I still stand beside the statement, South Park is the best show of the last two years.

Saved By The Bell in itself was so bad that it became good.

However, the shows that ripped off the SBTB concept (USA High, California Dreams, etc.) sucked the meat missile and liked it.

"Everybody Loves Raymond" has never worked for me. The lead's not that funny, the wife is often unlikeable , the mother is irritating and the brother seems to be a one-note performer. Peter Boyle, however, can be funny just by breathing.

Amen to that, they have REALLY stepped it back up this year. Cartman has returned to his old roots again, Butters has arguably become the best character on the show, and they have turned Jimmy into a pretty good one too.

I would have to say that South Park and Chappelle's Show were the best hour of TV for the past year or two. It's too bad that they moved Chappelle b/c I knew even on the shittiest day EVER that I would be laughing my ass off by 10:05PM.

I have to jump on the despisal of Seinfeld bandwagon. Throwing in Seinfeld people, the weak ass spin-off of Family Ties that was Day by Day has to rank up near the top.
The derivatives of Saved by the Bell are up there, but the original is saved due to Tiffany Theisen and the chick from Showgirls.
And, just on principle, probably 95% of the sitcoms that began after 1990.

Saved By The Bell wasn't a sitcom, it was a WEAPON. Watching it has about the same effect as being hit in the head, hard.

But having said that, I'd have to say Married... With Children. I can't remember a single time that show made me laugh, not even when Sam Kinison was on it. Although Will and Grace is right up there, based solely on the incredible unlikeability of the characters. It's hard to laugh when you're busy wishing everyone on the screen would be hit by a bus RIGHT NOW.

I'm sorry everyone, but you have all been defeated by the worst sitcom of all time. There was absolutely no aspect of the show that you could say was even remotely good.

Small Wonder

With that said, I don't know how I could have watched that show for it's 3-4 year run.

And I never got why Caroline in the City lasted as long as it did.

Wow. Caroline in the City. The late 90s was a BAD period for sitcoms, especially with NBC assuming that you could put ANYTHING after "Friends" and it would be a hit. Even though none of them every were.

Suddenly Susan. Boston Common. That Christina Applegate Show. Inside Schwartz.

Yikes.

Let's see...

Ally McBeal [FOX; 1997 to 2002]
Boy Meets World [ABC; 1993 to 2000]
Caroline in the City [NBC; 1995 to 1999]
Dharma & Greg [ABC; 1997 to 2002]
Everybody Loves Raymond [CBS; 1996 to NOW]
Grounded for Life [FOX/WB; 2001 to NOW]
Just Shoot Me! [NBC; 1997 to 2003]
The King of Queens [CBS; 1998 to NOW]
Mad About You [NBC; 1992 to 1999]
The Nanny [CBS; 1993 to 1999]
Sabrina, The Teenage Witch [ABC/WB; 1996 to NOW]

Two Guys and A Girl/Two Guys, A Girl & A Pizza Place [ABC; 1998 to 2001]

A LOT of crappy sitcoms still around, but we can wish for death soon...

Small Wonder was brilliant. BRILLIANT!.... if only in it's ability to be THAT bad and yet still remain on the air.

I seem to remember a sitcom - and I'm not making this up - about a girl who was half-human, half-alien who could freeze time by touching her fingers together. The theme song was "Swing on a star...", and she talked to her alien father through a large pink jewel. I'm seriously not making this up...

Does anyone remember this show?

I'll admit to liking "The King of Queens" solely for Jerry Stiller, who can make anything funny.

Hell yeah, I remember that show. That girl was cute!

Years later, I saw her in one of those low-budget "B" movies on HBO at like 3am. She & her boyfriend/husband were robbing banks or liquor stores or something, then she would strip down & they would do it in their getaway van.

I concur with Full House and Will and Grace. If anitmated shows count (cause I did see South Park mentioned a bit in here), add Spongebob Squarepaints to this list. I liked Wings a little bit (it does help that Tony S. was on the show.....MONK OWNS).

whatever

Jesus, I thought the EXACT same thing when I heard about "Small Wonder". The scary thing is I would actually *watch* the show! No accounting for taste in my younger years, I guess.
