Originally posted by cranlsnYeah…I had to admit he had a better set, even though I like Bonnie. If you ever watch Colin Quinn's show on Comedy Central, "Tough Crowd", she's on sometimes and is very funny. I think Heffernon has some good material, but poor timing. He talks very, very fast at times. I just wish she had called out Tammy. I don't find her funny at all and would've loved to see her gone instead.
I'm on the fence about Ant. He's got some funny stuff, but the whole "I'm GAY! Really, really GAY! It's FUNNY!!!!" thing wears a little thin after a while.
This should be a good season.
Dude -- take a drink every time Ant uses the "San Fransisco/Scooby Snack" joke.
My money's on Corey for the season, btw. Can two Chicagoans bat .1000 for the reality season on NBC? We shall see.

If I were Drew Carey, I don't know if I'd be honored or disgusted that ABC has his show running opposite of LCS. He is on 2 networks at the same time on non-simulcast programming, on the other had, the network is just crapping out the last few episodes.
I only caught one episode. The one where Ant has his dad in the crowd. The "I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO GAY!" jokes, like others said, were so tired. It reminded me of this blond butch gal that I always seem to catch on Comedy Central. She looks like a blond Rosie. She has the same stand-up. "Oh my God, can you believe that I'm gay??? IT'S TRUE!!! Gay, gay, gayly-gay!"

I have a bad feeling that NBC desperately wants Ant to win. With recent accusations that Dave M.'s thoughts on the show were taken down from the LCS web site because he blasted Ant, it looks like the producers are trying to protect Ant.
It would be good a story for TV, if only Ant changed his act in any way since last year, and got, you know, funnier.

The more I think about it, the more I think I just want Ant to lose in the next show. He is irritating with his gayness, and he isnt that funny. I only watched about two shows last season, mainly because I couldnt stand that fat bastard Ralphie. I didnt realise Ant was on the show last season at all.
Either way, as long as the two black guys stay on, and Tammy and Madigan, the show will be just fine. Those, to me are the funniest of the crew.

Clearly the producers want who they want, and don't really care what the judges think. Both Drew Carey and Brett Butler have said how pissed they are about the whole thing.
I think you'd do that too, if you used the same material from last year's LCS. I might just root for Todd Glass because he's such an asshole -- I mean, that would be the easiest way to buck the system :D
Actually, I read a witness account on another website from the show, and apparently it wasn't Ant that bombed, it was Todd Glass (he apparently even forgot the punchline for one of his jokes). The crowd apparently was then stunned when he made the house.
