I was rooting for Dat Phan in the early going, right up to the final night. That night, Dat did the mom bit for the second time and I realized that, even with all the notes Dat has, he still is a one-note pony. I ended up voting all three votes for Rich Vos because I loved him from Opie and Anthony.

Personally though, I had never heard of Dave Mordal before the show aired. I immediately thought that he was the funniest of all the comics on the show. I was actually upset when he was eliminated. I hope to see Dave again someday because he was great.

He has a website. Seems he still on the stand up tour circuit.

I was right about the 100 reruns on Comedy Central, so I got to catch a couple of them. I've talked enough in this thread, so I'll only list a couple of people that haven't been mentioned.

I was so happy that Tim Young made it. I laughed hard at his two jokes in the last show (the cell phone bit being particularly funny), so I'm suddenly rooting for him. And yes, you must put Jay London in that house. I want to see this guy interact with the other comics and I need to see him do wacky challenges. He will either bomb or be the funniest guy EVAR!

Finally, go ANT!

I caught the show last night, and was actually turned off by it. I thought that some of the better comics (Wiggens, Reetha, the police officer, and the husband of that other girl) weren't picked.

Also, you have to admire Buck Star. The guy was horribly unfunny, but he certainly had heart.

Dave Mordal was on the Jay Leno Show not too long ago.

I like the show but it's kinda weird having Will Durst on there. He's already had a career in standup and a good one. But I guess a couple weeks on NBC is good for anyone's resume.

Yeah, Dat Phan only has one note -- and Margaret Cho was using that note long before him.

Had I been a judge, Chris Voth (the guy who did the Parkinson's jokes) would have been in like Flynn -- he was easily the funniest of all the performers IMO. I can't believe they took the "I shot a pilot!" woman or Screamin' Jessica Kirson over him.

I'm astonished they didn't pick the stripper/comedian; imagine how many more horny guys they could get to watch the show with her on.

Wow Brett Butler and Drew Carey were pissed last night. I can't believe that really old guy, Jim Wiggins, got a freaking standing ovation and he didn't make it. That just sucks. That guy deserved to be in.

Overall the final 10 are pretty balanced. I am looking foward to the rest of the season, but Wiggins got screwed.

I like the laugh track for Ant the other night. Clearly, he bombed. Just look at his face, and look at the crowd behind his family. Clearly the producers want who they want, and don't really care what the judges think. Both Drew Carey and Brett Butler have said how pissed they are about the whole thing.

I was turned off by the first 20 finalists they took. Last night really drove home my hatred for the show, as again some of the better comics didn't make it. I will definitely not be tuning in to the show from now on.

Kudos to Drew Carey and Brett Butler, btw.

Wiggins got a standing ovation because he came across like a nice, sweet old guy. His material was kind of hackish actually. I mean, he actually did the joke about not wanting a 5th kid because every 5th child born in the world is (insert funny nationality here).

Nice guy, good TV for an episode or two, but no real comedic career waiting to happen there...

Well, he does have a career. He's been doing comedy since the early 1970s, and does tour dates around the country on a regular basis. He's helped a ton of comedians get their start, and he's pretty well respected by those comedians that have worked with him.

Roy-
I meant more of a "potential" future career. I can't imagine the show wants to build a show aimed at the 18-34 crowd (whenever I'm in a comedy club, the crowd is pretty young) with a comic who is as old as Wiggins is.

Plus, while I'm sure he's a nice guy & really comes across that way on TV, he was just not that good a comic & he would have to be to overcome his age factor in the venue.

Dan Naturman (the comic swearing backstage at the end of the show) was on Kimmels show last night and was pretty funny. I though the should've gotten in the house too.

Well, they let Ant in, and he'sjust plain unfunny. But my girlfriend laughed at him, so I guess if you like the "I'm gay" line of comedy, thats okay.

I dont like that Madigan got in, shes been around and popular forever. I mean really, whose gonna be on the show next year? David Brenner?

Tammy Pascerelli/pacatelli/fonzerelli got in, which is good. The business suit jacket with no shirt underneath makes me think on thing, PORN!

Both the black guys are funny as hell, but the one that got in on the first night is better, I hope he makes it far.

And, Kudos to Brett Butler, who left, and went and told the ones that WERE funny that she voted for them and didnt know HOW the others got in. Class move.

I think you'd do that too, if you used the same material from last year's LCS. I might just root for Todd Glass because he's such an asshole -- I mean, that would be the easiest way to buck the system :D

So, the first cut comes tonite and Bonnie Mcfarlin is GONE! I found it extremely funny how she was talking all that shit and was left standing like a moron.

Tammy P makes me warm "down there". I hope she goes far.

And, ANT seems like a producers choice, just to stir shit up in the house and to give really good "confessional" type interviews by himself. Definately a plant by the producers.

Yeah…I had to admit he had a better set, even though I like Bonnie. If you ever watch Colin Quinn's show on Comedy Central, "Tough Crowd", she's on sometimes and is very funny. I think Heffernon has some good material, but poor timing. He talks very, very fast at times. I just wish she had called out Tammy. I don't find her funny at all and would've loved to see her gone instead.

I'm on the fence about Ant. He's got some funny stuff, but the whole "I'm GAY! Really, really GAY! It's FUNNY!!!!" thing wears a little thin after a while.

This should be a good season.

Bonnie really pussed out by not taking on Tammy. She would've had a much better chance of beating her than one of the guys. Bonnie actually said she was funnier than Cory in her confession, HA, he wouldve kicked her ass worse than Heffron.

Bonnie said something about wanting to take on Heffron cause they were good friends before the competition and she couldn't believe he called her out. I thought it the totals were going to be a lot closer. Looks like Heffron will be around for a while now that he went along with the coalition.
