They should stick to wrestling & leave the Political commentary to The W's Politics Folder:

So according to the Torch, even though Bradshaw is a "real life Republican/Conservative", he's SURPRISINGLY not a racist.

Wow, just wow...

They also thought that the Dixie Carter scheduled for The View would be the NWA TNA President, and not the actress. Maybe they shouldn't be reporting on wrestling, either.

I understand what they were trying to say, they just didn't say it very well. When characters are based on the people playing them, sometimes it's hard to distinguish what's real and what's the character. He's conservative like the character he plays, but he's not also a racist.

To play devil's advocate here for the Torch, perhaps the point of the statement is that just because some of the things that go into his character are drawn from his real life mindset (hyper-capitalist, anti-immigration) that the racist part of his persona is in fact an artificial construction.

Come on. Have we ever seen (or needed to see) a news item explaining that while La Resistance are actually Canadians in real life, they don't REALLY hate Americans...??

Eh, considering Bradshaw likes the thought of genocide, I think pointing out he is not a racist is entirely newsworthy and not particularly political whatsoever. He has repeatedly stated that he wants wipe certain people off the face of the planet, like the entire population of Afghanistan. He makes no allowance for the disparity between terrorists and the rest of them.

I did not see a link being made between republicanism and racism. No need to be oversensitive. The Republicanism is an aspect of his character that is true to life, and since it is so close to the real him, people might feel the same about the racist aspect.

Have we all forgotten the last 5 years and more specifically, exactly who he was seen the most on-camera with?

I don't recall hearing word one from Keller or anyone else that the two of them couldn't get along on account of the fact that Bradshaw didn't like black people.

Tomorrow I'm sure we'll also find out he's not anti-semetic also. That all said he still hates Mexicans. :-P

Even better was this headline -

WWE APOLOGY FOR JOHN "HITLER" LAYFIELD'S ACTIONS REMOVED

By: 1Wrestling.com

Where do they get off calling him Hitler and where are the repercussions for 1wrestling.com?(outside of no one caring, of course)...directly calling someone a "Hitler" to me is more irresponsible that Bradshaw attempting to get some cheap heat. Unfortunately, CNBC overreacted a shit-canned him, despite consistently kowtowing to known Wall Street felons and having to be strong-armed into disclaimers that "it's only opinion" as nouveau insider trading masquerades as advice. But, Vince has always subscribed to the "no such thing as bad press" logic, so at least he got mentions on the news wires. Much ado about nothing, as per usual.

Plus "Hitler" totally screws up the initials. I totally agree with Flea for the first time in a ... long time. I think it's pre-tty pre-posterous that he lost his job with CNBC because he cut a promo on the internet and they vengefully "retaliated" by costing him a real-life job. Actually, when you put it that way it's kind of funny. Nevertheless, I feel bad.

1wrestling still never ceases to amaze me in their scumminess.

And Keller's definition of what's actually newsworthy is way broader then anybody's which is why I dropped my Torch subscription after a couple issues.

I'd say that Meltzer is usually 80% Confirmed/"Factual" and 20% speculation and he makes it very clear what he's just speculating about.

Keller's about 50/50 on a good week.

Scherer's like 20% Confirmed and 80% Speculation/Logical guess work.

You're not playing devils advocate, you're just showing common sense.
